Murphy was going to do it today, he was going to text Buck and ask him on a date. Well as long as Buck could come over, Murphy didn't want to ask him over text because he felt that was impersonal to Murphy. Murphy grabbed his phone off of the coffee table before giving Sabra a gentle pat on the head.

A smile grew on Murphy's face when he saw he had a text from Buck asking if he could come over to his because he was bored and off today, Murphy instantly agreed before sending him his address. It looked like Murphy didn't have to ask him because the universe did it for him now all that Murphy had to do was ask him on a date which was easier said than done in Murphy's opinion.

Murphy looked down at his clothes and he suddenly felt a wave of self-consciousness wave over him, he got up petting Sabra in apology when she huffed with displeasure, and walked towards his room. He knew that Buck wouldn't care what he was wearing but Murphy wanted to make himself look less like a slob.

Murphy put on a quick graphic tee before throwing on some sweatpants but they look better than normal sweatpants, he's been having some texture and sensitivity issues which Murphy had been told was a side effect of cancer so he could no longer wear his favorite jeans he pretty much lived in sweatpants.

A knock on the front door brought Murphy out of his thoughts, his eyes widened as Sabra started barking. "Sabra, quiet," Murphy said as he was walking to the door and like the good dog she was, she quieted instantly but stuck to Murphy's side to stay on guard.

Murphy ran his hands through his hair one last time before opening the door to see Buck's grinning face. "Hey Murphy, hope you don't mind that I came by. I was off today and I wanted to hang out." Murphy shook his head smiling. "Not a problem Buck, I was just alone hanging with Sabra today." Murphy gestured his head towards the dog who was looking at Buck like she was seconds away from mauling him in case he hurt Murphy.

Buck smiled wide at the dog before slipping off his shoes and squatting down. "Can I pet her? She looks like she wants to hurt me." Buck chuckled at the end. "Of course you can, lets go to the living room. Sabra is actually my Baba's dog from the police force, their retired but he trains other canine dogs and sometimes Sabra goes with him but not to today."

Murphy gave Sabra a pat on the head before leading them towards the living. "Do you want anything to drink?" Murphy could see that Buck hesitates for a minute. "Um, water would be good if it's not too much trouble." Before Buck could say anything else Murphy walked towards the kitchen and grabbed Buck some water.

"So, you mentioned your Baba. Why don't you tell me about yourself?" Murphy sat on the couch across from Buck as he folded his legs up under him rubbing his feet to get the ache out. "Well, My Baba who's named Adam met my Mom it was a one-night stand and she got pregnant signed over her rights instantly, when I was one Baba met Dad who's name is Simon, they're honestly the best parents ever. I don't have any siblings unless you count Sabra." Murphy chuckled at the last part and rubbed her head when she put it in his lap.

"Honestly, I wish I could say the same about my life. I had two parents who weren't bad parents but they weren't there you know what I mean?" Murphy reached over and held out his hand for Buck to take which he did squeezing gently. "I'm so sorry about that, do you have any siblings?"

Murphy didn't miss the way Buck's face changed into a smile as he nodded. "Yes, my sister Maddie. She recently moved down here actually." Murphy's heart fluttered when he saw the smile on Buck's face.

"I gotta ask you something, it's been bugging me since I met you." Buck tilted his head to the side at Murphy but nodded for him to continue. "Is you're real name Buck because Buck Buckley is very interesting." Buck laughed loudly making Sabra's head lifts to see what the noise was.

Buck shakes his head still laughing. "No, my real name is Evan but I like Buck better," Buck said once he calmed down from laughing so hard.

As they drifted into a comforting silence they both looked down to see they're still holding hands, Murphy slowly broke their hands apart the loss of touch was very noticeable between the two of them. Both of them unknowingly wanted to join hands again with the other but neither of them was brave enough to make the next move.

Murphy sighed and looked away, he rubbed his chest when he suddenly got a bout of chest pain. "Hey, you okay Murph?" Murphy gulped before nodding at Buck. "Yes, just chest pain. My symptoms have been getting worse recently and when I go to the doctor she says that it's worse than we thought so with each pain it's like I'm dying sooner."

Buck looked at Murphy sadly before sliding closer. "Are you going to do anything? Have you made your final arrangements?" Murphy sighed before shaking his head. "I don't want to think about that, honestly I want to be cremated and I plan on writing the people I love notes to say goodbye." Murphy gave Buck a sad smile which Buck returned.

"I wish you didn't have to go through this." Murphy huffed a laugh. "Me too."

They were silent when they both looked up at the same time and spoke. "Will you go on a date with me?" The two men's said at the same time before chuckling.

"I would love to Buck, when?" Buck thinks for a second reaching over to pet Sabra. "Now?" A smile grows on Murphy's face before he nods smiling wide.
