Ryan's P.O.V

You may be wondering how I made it into a technical institute. Let me explain...

When my father refused to pay for my education I relied on other sources. Finally I found a contest for a scholorship at North Winter. I had always found video games fascinating, even if I hardly ever played them.

So long story short, I entered the contest and somehow won with a streak of luck...

And that's how I'm still going to school...

After that Felix guy helped me I felt like I do this, that I could run away and make it out.

After the last bell rang I ran out of the classroom, despite the pain in my abdomen, and saw Felix with a few other people I don't really know too well. I only knew their names, Ken and Tobey.

Felix looked around and his blue gaze finally settled on me. I felt frozen in place, I couldn't move...

I saw him say something to Ken and Tobey that I couldn't quite make out, and then he started my way, a small smile on his face.

"Hey Ryan, h-how you holding up?" I was finally able to look away, I sighed and looked down.

"I'm f-fine... Felix..." I muttered, starting to walk away. I felt Felix grab my shoulder gently, holding me in place.

"Hey, I want to get to know you better! Can we hang out or something?" He asked, a smile spread on his lips.

I sighed and shook my head.

"I can't..." I trailed off.

Unless, of course, he could help me get away fromy dad... No... I wouldn't want to burdon him... I thought.

"I'm going somewhere tonight..." I said, only half lying. Felix looked at me sadly but quickly replaced it with a smile.

"Okay, maybe later then!" He said enthusiastically, smiling and waving me a goodbye.

I forced a fake smile and waved back without enthusiasm.

I slipped into the my room quietly, being careful not to make a sound. I lifted up a corner of my matress that hid a small wad of money, about 219$... Still hardly enough...

I sighed and gripped a knife I had his in my hoodie pocket, in case I needed protection...

I looked out my window, seeing that it was about midnight. I smiled and opened the window that was usually locked, and slid out onto the roof.

I lightly trodded over the roof and peered over the edge, about a ten foot drop...

I would only be hurt a little.

I jumped and gasped as I hit the ground, the shock reverberating in my legs. I quickly recovered though.

I stood up and observed my surroundings.

It was dark, but silent, nothing disturbing the serene darkness.

I started walking, not knowing where I was going, and I don't care... As long as I was away from there...

My feet ached and my head was fuzzy. The sun was only starting to rise over the horizon.

I couldn't keep going...

I didn't care where I collapsed, I just knew that I collapsed onto the ground, the darkness of sleep enveloping my body.

Felix's P.O.V

I woke up early in the morning, the morning sun hardly peeping above the horizon. I stretched and yawned, looking around my room that was tainted orange from the morning light. My room was comfortable, painted a light blue with darker blue lining the edges of the walls. A desk with a rather nice computer sat across from my bed, other miscellaneous items strewn across the room at random.

I stood up and stretched, feeling great. I almost skipped downstairs, taking g the stairs two at a time.

"Felix? What are you doing up so early? Its Saturday!" My housekeeper, Jennifer, asked, her light brown eyes shining.

"Heh, just wanted to take a walk, Jenn. And by the way, there's some waffles in the fridge if you want any." I added with a smile.

She grinned and a pink hue shaded her cheeks. "T-thank you!" She said quickly. I smiled again and slid on my converses, grabbing my keys before walking out the door.

I walked to the nearby park, the warm September air tousling my hair as I walked. Red and orange leaved fluttered by as a soft wind picked them up off from the ground.

I sighed in content, my eyes flitting around the empty park.

But a dark mass caught my eye.

It was hard to make out, but it seemed like a body was lying passed out on the dying grass.

I frowned and found myself jogging over to the dark mass.

When I got closer I gasped. Making out pale skin, a dark green hoodie and oak brown hair.

"Ryan...?"
