Gideon Pines flipped through Journal 3, trying his best to memorise every page in the book. Even though he knew he would not. Suddenly, Pineapples.
Pacifica burst into the cleaned out storage room. With her bright neon clothes, she wore big gardening gloves two sizes too big. Panting, she said, "Giddy-pig, you might want to see this."
Gideon got up and followed her to the stairs leading to the attic. He stopped. He had never been to the attic. When he and Pacifica had first come to the Mystery Shack, Stan had completely cleaned out the storage room and placed everything in the attic to "make their living experience pleasant."
"What were you doing in the attic?" He asked.
"I heard rats."
"Rats?"
Pacifica her hand on her hips and tried her best to scowl. "Yeah, and what's wrong with that?"
"I don't know, usually girls run away screaming at the mention of rats."
Pacifica pointed at Gideon. "That's sexist!!" She yelled.
Gideon waved it away. They were already all the way upstairs. Pacifica stopped him outside the door of the room they were about to enter. Gideon didn't try to pull her hand off, because he knew Pacifica was always looking out for him. She knew more about handling supernatural activity than him.
Pacifica slowly opened the creaky door. The room was filled with useless junk, but the one thing that stood out was a large mirror. It glowed a deep blue color. Gideon walked closer and squinted at it.
Pacifica grinned, showing her braces. "Isn't it cool! This would make an awesome party light! Except it only glows blue. Oh wait, it's turning purple. And it's pulsing faster..."
She reached forward and dragged Gideon back. With each pulse, the purple light grew darker, and as it grew darker, the Pines took another step back. Once they had reached the wall, two dark figures appeared in the glass and grew bigger. As soon as the shapes were about to fill the mirror, Pacifica grabbed Gideon's wrist and ran out the door.
