Time skipped three days has passed
Yamamoto's POV
Today is finally Valentine's Day, my favorite time of the year. I can't wait to see if Kiyoko~san got me chocolates*... or I just hope a girl gets me some chocolates today. If not, the team is having a party with some schools for the holiday. We are inviting Karasuno, Fukurodani, and some others. To this will be great. I can't square up their aces and see their managers too and see my ANGEL KIYOKO~SAN, but that's all after school, which means I have to get through my classes first. UGH, but the only reason we need to have this party is for Kenma's sake. We need to keep him away from his dad, but that's hard because he wants Kenma to be this perfect child, like a Ken doll, but Kenma is Just not like that. He plays games for his life, AND IF THAT OLD MAN CAN'T SEE THAT, HE IS STUCK UP AS EVER. with this, I hope karma sees that we do really care for him.
SHOOT I'M LATE FOR CLASS, and that is why I can't think to myself. I get too caught up in my head. I forget about the real world.
*time skip at lunch*
At lunch, me and Lev wait for Kenma, Kuroo, and Demon~sempi. Kenma went to get them, but he hadn't returned, so Lev went after them, and I went to get a meat bun at the cafe. When I got back, I saw Kuroo, Yaku, and Lev, but no Kenma
"Hey, bro, where's Kenma?"
"We don't know; Lev said he was looking for us, but we NEVER saw him," Kuroo said back, puzzled
"This is not good. What if his... dad got him?" Yaku says, worried
"But it's in the middle of a school day. That old man can't be here," I say
"Yeah, but 3rd and 2nd have open lunch, so technically, he still can get to Kenma," He replies back
"Oh, but still-" I try to argue back
"Stop, Yama Yaku's right, ok guys, let go look for him," Kuroo says, his worry growing. "I will go to the office and then to his class to see if he forgot something,"
"Ok, Lev and I will check around the lunch area," Yaku says as he tries to treasure Kuroo before taking Lev's arm and walking away
"Yamamoto, you stay here to see if Kenma returns," Kuroo says before I give him a promising nod, and he leaves as well. So I waited there for a while, and no one had returned yet, but then I heard some crying and an old hag yelling at someone so I followed the noise and I saw Kenma and his Dad there what was terrible I saw Kenma crying and that old hag screaming
"IF YOU WANT TO BE A PERFECT, YOU NEED TO FOLLOW MY LEAD. I WANT YOU TO BE A GAY FREAK. YOU ARE A BOY, AND BOYS NEED A GIRL. I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT YOU AND THIS BOY; YOU WILL BREAK UP WITH HIM, GOT IT!?"
"No, I can't do that. I love Kuroo too much," Kenma sputters out between each sob.
"STOP CRYING. YOU ARE A BOY, BOYS. DON'T. CRY." his dad continues to scream at him. I wanted to go over there and beat him up, but Yaku would kill me, so I walked over there and tried to talk it out. When I get over there, the old hag sees me
"Ah, you young man, please can I have your opinion?" Kenma's dad asks, the excuse of a father figure he has.
"Sure," I say back relatively calmly, which surprised Kenma and even surprised me.
"Yama," I hear Kenma say, wondering what I am doing. I winked at him, telling him I got this. He smiled and nodded
"Don't you think that Boy, when they grow up, they're gonna find a nice lady to make sure they act tough? They'll be living a life like Barbie and Ken."
"C'mon, suck it up and Forget this nonsense," I say back with the suggested grin on my face leaving him utterly speechless.
"What if he wants Ken, not Barbie? Why should he have to say sorry?" Yaku says, coming out of the bushes, surprising us all.
"Tell me, do you even listen? To all the dumb shit you're slipping?" Lev says as he comes out behind Yaku. Kenma sees the people who matter to him stick up for him and gains confidence as he chirps in.
"We can love who we want to. Don't say I'm not supposed to. If I love Ken, not Barbie."
"He doesn't have to say sorry!" Kuroo adds as he comes up behind the old man
"NO, NOT TO YOU, NOT TO ME, NOT TO ANYONE, ANYONE EVER !" I say back, basically yelling at this point
"YOU ALL ARE WRONG GUY SHOULD DATE GIRLS; YOU ALL ARE GAY FREAKS," his dad says, trying to get the upper hand again.
"Ok, that's what you think, but now leave us alone, you old man. Come on, Kenma, let's go eat lunch." Kuroo says, grabbing Kenma, and we all come following after Lev gives one more look of "ha take that" before getting punched in the arm by Yaku. When we left, I turned around one last time to see the old man's reaction, and it was worth it. He just stared at us as we walked away in shock and a little bit of horror like he saw a ghost.
"Kenma, are you ok did he do anything to you?" Yaku asks, concerned, seeing kenma's tear-stained face.
"No, I'm fine. Well, thanks to Yamamoto; he really made the situation better," Kenma says, then turns to me. "Thank you, Yamamoto."
"Hey, there is no need to thank me. I just wanted to see that old hag gone just as much as you." I say with a big smile on my face
"Ok, guys, let's try to forget what happened and finish lunch and go to class," Lev says, digging into his bento
"Yeah, let's do that," Yaku adds, giggling at Lev for acting like a kid
"Ok, I will see you guys at the party after school," Kuroo says and walks away with Kenma
"Bye, guy. See you soon." Kenma says before trying to catch up with Kuroo
