A Beautiful Nightmare

PART 1

'Welcome back guyss!!! So in our 10th episode of 'spooky files', we have decided to explore one of the most haunted places in our country. Yes, you guessed it right. Behold the Hartfield manor!!!!'

I said with a flourish to which my cameraman Park Jimin sighed sarcastically.

'Yikes. Cant you try it in some other way? You almost use the same one for our every episode!' He said and lowered the camera, indicating he stopped shooting.

'Leave it Chim. Let her do as she wish.'
Taehyung said patting his back.

We three; Me, Chim and Tae were thick friends from primary school. We parted our ways in high school but ended up in the same university.

We had a lot in common, among which was to explore haunted places. That's how we decided to start our show 'spooky files' ( Jimin gave this name despite our opposition) .

Yea, it was a little difficult at first. We had to take all the necessary precautions and there were a few life-death situations. But as long as we three got each others back, we are not scared.

'You heard our director. I get to do it the way i want', i said with a victory smile on my face. Jimin did a pouty expression and turned the camera on.

'So as i was saying, the manor is one of the most haunted places in the country. This beautiful manor vitnessed the murder of 3 members of the Jeon family.

So, the manor is a three-storeyd ancient building which was purchased by the Jeon family from a foreigner.

Surrounding the manor is a very beautiful garden, which is still maintained by the local gardeners.

You can see a big water fountain over there.

And there is a shabby little building probably an outhouse', i said and Jimin adjusted his camera to wherever i was pointing. Taehyung was trying to open the front door for us to enter.

'Visitors are only allowed till sunset and after that the manor gates are closed for good. There has been reports of many unusual events happening within the palace walls. Villagers say that they hear a screem of a young man from the manor. So with our special permission we are here to explore the place.

Let's see if we are lucky enough to have an encounter with the handsome young ghost.' Chim and Tae chuckled.

We entered the manor. It was magnificent. The living room was so big with a dusty old chandelier on top. There was a bifurcated staicase in the middle, leading to the first floor.

The living room lead way to many other rooms and a few corridors. Most of the furnitures were covered with white cloth. The only light available was the light of our flashlights and headlamps.

'This place is worth a fortune!,' Jimin gasped.

'If those murders hadn't happened here, i would have purchased this one.' Both me and tae rolled our eyes to Jimin's statement.

'My gut says that this will be different from our other cases. The spooky aura here gives me goosebumps', Taehyung said with a serious expression on his face.

Even i felt it, the chilly air that surrounds the manor. There was something definitely wrong with this place. The shadows in the dark hallways creeped me a bit. I scooted closer to the boys.

'Ok y/n, its time to roll', tae said and Jimin adjusted the camera and started filming. I got ready.

'Ok, so it's 9:14 at night and we are standing in the giant living room of the manner. You can see the grand staircase over there and the corridors leading to different rooms. Let us go this way first', i said pointing to a particular hallway.

'So we are entering to ehmm what seems to be the dining room of the manor. There is a chandelier similar to the one we saw in the living room. And this door here leads to, perhaps the kitchen which is not our field of interest, well, maybe except for Jimin'.

'Hey! That was unnecessary', Jimin pouted to which tae chuckled. 'I'm just stating facts Chim'.

'Okay, lets explore some other area', Tae started walking in a different direction. 'Aye aye, captain', both me and Jimin said in unision.

After exploring the ground floor a bit we decided to head towards the first floor of the manor. Nothing unnatural happened during our venture. Infact we started loosing interest in the place.

We took a few clips and head towards the staircase. There were a few portraits hung on the wall.

'My my, look at this guy. I'm sure he must have been a pain in the ass judging his face', Jimin pointed to a man's portrait and tried to imitate his face. Both me and Tae laughed at his cuteness.

'Well about this lady, i wonder how her ears are still intact after wearing those massive earrings!', Tae exclaimed pointing to a woman's portrait next to the man's.

We had a good laugh on the joke. I looked around for pictures to make a joke. But my eyes fell on the portrait of a young man.

I didn't know why, but i felt some sort of attraction- or maybe a connection with the man in the portrait. I was so into the portrait , it seemed as the world around me melted down.

'-And this one looks like he peed in his pants!' I was brought back by both of their quirky laughs.

'Y/n!? Are you all right?' Tae asked in a concerned manner.

'Yea im good. Just spaced out i guess,' i tried to smile.

'Let's go up now.' I started to climb the stairs. Tae still had a concerned face.

'Worried for her?',Jimin asked Tae with a mischievous glint in his eyes.

'Of course i am. She is my best friend after all!', Tae said as a small blush crept up on his face.

'As you say, Romeo', Jimin smirked as Tae slapped him on the back. They started heading up.

I reached the first floor before the boys.

'You guys coming or what?' I shouted to them.

'Just a second. Taking a few shots of the place', Jimin shouted back. I walked further into the big sitting rooms where half-a-dozen furnitures where covered with white cloth.

There were several doors leading to probably somewhere. Out of all those doors, one door caught my eye. It had many intricate designs carved in it and some parts of it were plated with what seems to be gold, indicating it was one of the master bedroom. I didnt know what, but something in me told to open the door. I did.

I was spellbound at the sight before me. Each and every detail of the room seemed to be taken care very delicately. I was amazed at how perfectly casted the room was. To my surprise, none of the furnitures were covered. I ran my hands through the soft lavender coloured silk bedsheets. There was something special about this room.

'I have to go get the boys,' i thought to myself and turned around towards the door. Before i could step outside,the door before me shut close with a loud thud. I was shocked and scared beyond any words. I stood still on my feet, not moving a muscle. That was when i felt something moving behind my back. I hesitated to turn around and face whatever entity was there. Suddenly i felt someone's hand on my shoulders.........
