after getting home from church, jimin noticed a moving truck parked in front of the house next door— the house had been vacant ever since ms.yu, a sweet old woman, had a heart attack and was found dead on her rocking chair by her eldest son. the entire neighborhood was saddened by her death, and even though her sons had inherited the house, they never stepped foot into the house. it was now a year later, and it looks like they finally sold it.
a happy squeal sounded from the other yard, jimin now noticing the ball that had accidentally landed in his front yard.
confused, he picked up the ball before looking to where the squeal came from, watching as a little boy ran up to him before stopping and staring at him.
jimin stared back timidly, the ball in his hands. the boy simply just pointed at the ball, looking at jimin expectantly.
"kids are weird," he thought as he handed the ball to the boy who suddenly burst into a wide smile. jimin awkwardly smiled back before flinching at the sound of another voice.
another hot guy came into view.
"what the hell is up with today and hot fricking guys?!?"
"taeyang! you can't just run into other peoples' yards!!" he scolded in a deep voice before his line of focus went up, seeing jimin who was already looking at him with wide eyes.
"well.. unless it's into cute guy's yards— good job, bud," he murmured down to his brother with a sly smile, "go wait at the house, yeah? i'll be a sec."
jimin simply stood, watching the (what he assumed to be) brothers' interaction curiously. the little boy, now known as taeyang, ran back to the next door house with a wide smile while jimin expected the older boy to do the same— but no, his strides went the opposite way of his own home, straight to the shy boy who desperately tried to avoid eye contact.
"don'tlookdon'tlookdon'tlookdon'tlook."
"hi!"
"fuck."
hesitantly, jimin's eyes met the stranger boy's, his ears immediately blushing a light shade of pink.
"he's even fucking hotter up close!!!"
mental alarms went off in jimin's head, screaming "abort abort abort!!"
but instead, jimin tried to muster up a smile and respond.
"h-hello, it looks like we'll be neighbors!" he said lamely.
"no shit, park!!"
"yup!" the boy said, popping the p, "my name is taehyung— what's yours, pretty neighbor?"
jimin could feel his neck heating up, the red blazer not offering much except for the discomfort of even more heat.
"my name i-is jimin," he stammered out, looking at the ground shyly.
"cute," taehyung simply said before ruffling the flustered boy's hair, "i hope that we'll be great friends!"
"yeah.." jimin agreed, allowing himself to look back into taehyung's alluring eyes. they were dark, endless even. they made jimin curious.. and slightly turned on— but mostly curious.
they stared into each other's eyes openly in the front lawn for a moment before jimin finally blinked, shaking his head to get him out of his trance.
"i'll.. i'll see you later, jimin!" taehyung finally breathed out, both boys turning the opposite way to thier respective households.
"wait.... later???"
jimin looked back, but taehyung was gone.
