"BEEP BEEP BEEP"
"Ugh."
I groaned as I stretched my arms and tried to get out of bed. I was so tired. Not only had I got back from work late last night, but I had also realized that I had an overdue assignment that I had to finish, so I was up until 2 am. But I don't know why I was so surprised, this was how my life was. Yes, it wasn't necessarily healthy for me or my wellbeing (as my horrible stepmom always said), but I did it anyways. College isn't free, and I knew that my Dad wouldn't be able to pay for it, he had enough bills to pay already. I crawled out of bed and walked into the bathroom. As I looked at my reflection, I sighed. The circles under my eyes were twice as big as they had been the day before, and I had just run out of concealer. But I didn't have time to fret about it, so I quickly put on some mascara, (jabbing my eye in the process), and brushed on some highlighter because I knew I'd be outside so there was no use wearing foundation. After throwing my hair into a messy bun, I opened my closet and picked out an outfit. Nothing special, but for some reason wearing something cute always made me a bit happier. I took a quick picture and added it to my snap story.
At 5 minutes till 7:30, Anna showed up. I almost got frustrated but then I realized it was Anna and I shouldn't be surprised.
"Hey girlie!" she exclaimed.
"Hey boo!" I smiled. I loved Anna so much, she had been my best friend for years. Even though I wasn't so shy anymore, when we first met I was going through a really hard time and I barely ever said a word. Somehow, she got me to come out of my shell and we've been best friends ever since.
"Sorry I was late, my brother just got back and we were catching up."
"Wait but I thought Tyler and Christian were home?" I asked her, confused.
"They are..."
"Then what-" I was interrupted by Anna handing me her phone.
"Don't worry so much! You should chill, there's a stressful day ahead and it's gonna be even harder if you're worrying over things that don't even matter." She smiled.
She was right, somehow she always knew the right things to say. I wish I was like that, but we were opposites in a lot of ways. For most friendships that would result in them going their separate ways, but for some reason, we just clicked and always got along.
"Thanks, Anna. You're right." I sighed.
"Always am, always will be." She winked.
"Don't flatter yourself, child." I laugh.
She playfully shoves me to the side as I choose a playlist. We crazily jam to the music all the way to school, lifting my spirits as high as the clouds.[☁✰☾✰☁]
