The last thing Kimberly Thompson saw before the darkness swallowed her were 4 hooded figures. Their faces were hidden behind terrifying silver masks and the coldness from their eyes brought a sense of forbidding.

Mr Thompson's body laid motionlessly on the stairwell in a position that acted as a barrier for anyone attempting to move further upstairs. Mrs Thompson's body were right outside Kimberly's bedroom door, one of her hand was on the door handles and her body shielded  Kimberly's bedroom. Their attempts to protect their daughter proved to be futile and their sacrifices were comical to the intruders; did these muggles actually thought they stood a chance?

Disbelief was the first emotion Kimberly felt after her bedroom door swung open, revealing her mother's lifeless body. She didn't have time to register who had entered her room. She knew the intruders were moving in on her but her eyes couldn't move away from her mother's lifeless body as her brain processed what had happened. Her mother was dead.

Grief was the second emotion Kimberly felt. Grief so strong it momentarily paralysed her.

Then she saw red. All traces of logic escaped Kimberly and she could only focus on this internal fire building up in the pit of her stomach. The burning sensation was so intense it slowly began to consume Kimberly entirely. She tried to regain control, directing the fire slowly from her stomach to her arms and all the way to her finger tips, until it felt like she was holding an imaginary fireball, and Kimberly had the sudden urge to throw it at one of the intruders. Doing so promised the catharsis she deeply craves, and she just knew the result would be deadly. Unfortunately, the intruders sensed the same. Before Kimberly could lift up her hand, one of the masked figures pointed something at her whilst muttering in incoherent Latin. And just like that, Kimberly lost all consciousness.
