Ever since you could remember, you were bullied for being Quirkless. Those with quirks would call you weak and laugh at you but you simply shrugged them off. Who needed that sorta thing in their life? People who just degraded and hurt you. You were not about to waste time thinking over how bad those words upset you. But this particular day, you just were feeling on edge due to family issues..and the elementary school day was worse than usual. Bullies swarmed you left and right the entire day..and then one talked about your quirkless family. Now that, that got you going. Without a second word, you had turned to the bully and began to scream and yell, pointing a finger at them as they looked at you, shocked. The person who barely ever spoke was yelling at the top of their lungs. This just..pushed the bully to be even more mean and hateful. The bully and a few friends beat you down with their quirks and left you on the playground, dizzy and unsure of what to do now. Body aching from the beating you just received. That was until you heard a very faint voice speak out, a boy coming into your field of vision.

"Are you okey..?"

Trying to squint and see who asked you that..you saw a boy around your age, black messy hair and dark eyes. He was small, and his hand was held out to you. He seemed a little shy as well, the hesitant look on his face making it obvious..slowly you managed a nod and let him help you up. The young boy looked you over, noticing a deep cut on your arm..he made a small worried face and grabbed you by the hand. His childish soft voice telling you that he'd fix you up. And that's how it happened, a childhood friendship.

You and Shota were inseparable. There wasn't a moment you two weren't together, wasn't a moment that you two weren't chatting the day away like nothing bad would ever happen. You two grew up together as best friends, always sticking at each other sides. Getting through almost everything together..sadly the happy memories were not meant to last. Towards teenage years..you two began to drift away from each other. It wasn't that you didn't want to be friends, it was just the fact the two of you were going down completely different paths. He was going to UA, and you were studying hard to be accepted into a good college. You two stayed in touch though, making sure the other was okey. You both tried to keep up as friends..but Shota seemed to drift off more and more. He was always..doubting himself. Lacking confidence in his quirk. You always told him he would be an amazing hero, that he'd do his best and make it through. However, Aizawa just continued to struggle with his confidence. However you both ended up making new friends and moving on with the things you planned to do. Shota making two valuable friends named Hizashi Yamada and Oboro Shirakumo. You met them a few times and even hung out with them and Shota. Even though you were both into two different worlds, you made things work just like when you were kids. Then one day..You were sent home from finals due to a villain attack, Turning on the news to see what was happening you saw that your best friend was on the Tv. Apparently the villain attacked your best friend and another student. The other student..was Aizawa's friend. Shirakumo who was killed by falling debris. Aizawa however had took the villain head on and came out victorious but, he looked..blank. He didn't have a facial expression, not a single emotion lingering in those dark eyes of his. Immediately after seeing this, you tried to reach out to him as much as you could. But..he cut himself off from you. He wouldn't answer texts or calls. So instead, you called Hizashi to see where he was. You weren't about to let the only person who's stuck with you through the years suffer alone. Hizashi let you know where he was training and what time he was usually there. You found him training like Hizashi said he would be. However, Shota wasn't giving himself any breaks. When you walked into the training room, he was punching at a bag repetitively, his eyes not even taking a glance to you. You slowly sat to the side and waited for him to Finnish..but he never stopped. Not for awhile at least, and when he did, he didn't acknowledge you. He just grabbed his water, his grip tight around the bottle as he chugged it. He looked like a mess. That dark hair of his was wild and messy, he had dark bags under his eyes, and his body was soaked in sweat. You frowned and walked up to face him, gripping the edge of your pants as you looked at him. He just kept his gaze towards the ground, lightly panting. Water in hand. You slowly opened your mouth to speak, but suddenly you heard his deep voice..

"Don't."

You stopped and looked at him.

"Shota.."

"No, (y/n).. Stop."

"Please just let me-"

His eyes flew open and they no longer his calm dark eyes. Yet a crimson color, bright and terrifying. His black hair began floating around him.

"NO! I don't need your help. I don't fucking need any words you planned on saying. Don't you think I've already heard everything you're about to say? Now fucking leave. I don't need you or your petty sentiment."

You felt your heart crawl into your throat. Hands clenched at your sides, your eyes wide with..shock..and hurt. You excepted him to realize what he just said but he just put his water down and began to flex his fingers a bit before going back to the punching bag. Before you knew it..you felt hot tears crawl down your cheeks. You knew he was hurting but..did he really mean it? No..he couldn't. You began walking forward, planning on helping him one way or another but he stopped and turned around, as soon as you got close. He suddenly shoved you backwards, making you stumble over some dumbbells and land on your back. With a pained groan you looked up at him, he was glaring down at you with such rage and coldness..you felt your heart break into millions of pieces. You shook your head slowly.

"Shota, I know that your upset right now..but please, I can't just-"

"(Y/n)."

His voice cut out in front of yours, that glare never leaving his eyes.

"I. Dont. Want. To. Hear. It. Now leave. I don't need you. Get out."

He turned to walk back to the bags but you suddenly got up and lashed out yourself. Tears flowing freely from your eyes.

"You know what? Fine! I'll fucking go! I don't want to see you like this..beating yourself up like this..I just wanted to fucking help but obviously you don't need it!"

Shota turned around and clenched his fists tightly, his knuckles turning white.

"If you don't want to see me like this, then fucking great! I need the peace and quiet, but I'd never get it if your here. So fucking go! I don't fucking need you, I've never needed you-"

He was cut off by a sharp slap to his face, your entire body was trembling as you pulled your hand away. He slowly looked at you, his eyes now wide with shock. You've never laid a single harmful hand on him before. Never.

"Goodbye Shota"

With those final words..you turned your back to him and tried to get yourself as fast as you could out of the training area. That was the last time you ever saw your best friend..but who knew, 10 years later..you'd see those dark eyes again that once brought you joy.

((Whew! Chapter 1 is finished. Thank you so much for reading and stay tuned, next chapter will be coming out soon! Also I'm sorry if some things weren't correct concerning Aizawa's backstory and personality. This is just my take on it. Also I do not own Aizawa or any characters from My Hero Academia.
