CHAPTER 1
Just a dream and......... visions

Cherryl POV
I am so happy right now. I wish I could jump to the moon and back.
My lovely husband is standing right in front of me. We are dancing in a room which allows the moonlight to be shown. It looks like our wedding reception. All my friends are here. Faces I recognized and others I did not. But I didn't care.
All of a sudden....
"You don't need to do this" He says pleadingly yet angrily.
What is going on? I am so confused right now.
I then shove him aside
"Cherryl, No!!!!!!!" He screamed
But it was too late I took the gun from him and I shot the person tormenting and frustrating us
Even if I don't survive this, I know I would do it all over again if it meant keeping him safe.

The floor is cold and hard. I feel very weak. I feel numb. I see blood, I am terrified, is all that coming from me
Is this it?
Is this how my life will end. But I had just found happiness. No...I ...

"Someone call an ambulance"
I heard him scream

"Princess, don't go, hold on... please"
"I would do anything to be in your place"
"I feel so helpless"
"Please..." He screamed
I tried so hard to talk to him but I couldn't. It was painful. I felt more pain seeing him in pain. It was more than the gunshot wounds I had

"I love..."
He tried to say he loved me. I knew it but soon I gave in to the darkness

Yet another vision......
"Dad, where are you going?" I asked
I could see myself as an eight-year-old asking my dad this question.
He looked worried yet calm at the same time. It was very odd.
"I will be back honey" He said as be planted a kiss on my forehead
I took a critical look at him just before he left and I saw him holding a gun. I was really scared but telling mum would only worsen things. She would probably go there and things could get messy. I didn't want that. I ran to my brother's room to check on him. He was sound asleep.

"Dan, where are you?" my mum suddenly called
What do I do? Daddy isn't around. And quite frankly I am not supposed to be awake at this time. So.....
"Dan!" mum called again
No way am I facing this. I did the only thing that came to mind. Run!
I bolted to my room and pretended to be sleep.

"Where is he?" Dan wondered aloud
Just then Elton walked in.
"There you are old friend. Did you come alone?" Elton asked

"Yes I did."
"You were a fool to have come here alone. Especially after what happened!!"
"Will you really throw away our 25 years of friendship? I just don't understand you!"
"I would do anything for Sophie."
"I am telling you for the 100th and last time. I did not do it." Dan retorted angrily
"Well, I don't believe you!" Elton screamed

Well ......... this is getting heated.

"Speaking about that I have a little surprise for you." Elton said smirking
"Boys!!" Elton screamed

Just then a number of men surrounded my dad holding guns. It looks like he recognizes two of them

"Bronx and Gary? How dare you betray me?"
"You will not escape!"

My dad addressed them angrily but they didn't seem to even care

"We didn't betray you. We were loyal to both of you. And when we had to pick sides we chose Elton." Gary said
"You are a monster. How can you kill your best friend's wife" Gary said.

But my dad will never do that! What is going on?

"For me it's just business. He just happened to pay more." Bronx said shrugging

"You were supposed to be protecting me." Dan said angrily
"Traitors!" Dan said sharply

"Boys, what are you waiting for?" Elton screamed

*Gunshot*

"Argggggggh!" Gary screamed
"Gary! Brother are you alright?" Bronx asked extremely concerned
You will pay for this." Bronx retorted angrily pointing a gun at my dad

"I don't ... understand..." My dad stuttered
"What don't you understand? I think it's pretty clear" Elton thundered

*Gunshots*

Daddy no!! He fell down on the ground in pain.
I was too emotional to listen well but I heard Elton stuttering, by this time the other guys had left.
I couldn't believe it he was silently mourning his friend.

"Dan, no!!" Elton silently screamed
"You caused this. You brought this upon yourself!"
"I had to do this to find some peace. To help me forgive myself"
"I am sorry for betraying our friendship even though you did same"
"It may sound selfish but it had to be done." He said angrily and left.

........... Back at the house.........

I couldn't shake off, that feeling. Like something was wrong. I couldn't sleep either. So I was standing by the window when

"Who is there?" My mum said suddenly scared.
She heard some noise coming from behind the house.

Then almost suddenly ....
"May, help me..." Dan said

Dad? I said gasping. He looked absolutely terrible. He looked really weak too. And he was bleeding too!

"Dan! Oh honey..." May struggled to speak.

"There's no time. Get the children and let's get out of here" he said

"Cherryl, get the bag and wake your brother up. We need to leave now!" The urgency in her voice sent me tumbling over the chair I was standing on to peep at them.

I never understood why we always had a bag packed full of things until today.

"Ron, wake up!" I said hurriedly
"We need to leave now" I said frantically.

Grudgingly he got up and I pulled him out of the room. And we flew to the door

"Dad, mum ....."
"No time honey" Mum said as she pulled my hand and carried Ron who was still very sleepy
Daddy, was wounded else he would have carried me. I knew that so I left my mum's hand and went to support him.

And together we ran...........
And when I woke up we were at a place we now call home.
