I have always dreamed of retelling the legendary myth that is Hades and Persephone. Of how darkness and light - two of the most unlikely variables of the world - mixed to create something as stunning as their story. I think everybody can find something from the myth that they are drawn to and simply connect with it.
For years I have daydreamed my take on the ever famous gods of Olympus, and as time wore on I found that my connection to them as their personalities and endeavors developed in my mind (of course, all from inspiration of their origins / other retellings!) led me to a discovery: I simply could not ignore writing them. And thus, my retelling of Hades and Persephone's story bloomed from a flower of creativity.
I fell in love with mythology - especially this myth - in the darkest time of my life. And I believe that the company of stories through their influence and creation can bring out the light that was deeply buried in the darkness.
I hope to do right by you, reader. I hope you find light concealed in the pages of Underworld and see yourself. I love you.
Anyways, before we begin, I'd like to get some possible questions out of the way, and even tackle into some fun things (playlist, cast) just to get everybody hyped to begin reading!
I. Will Underworld be completely twinned to the original myth?
Not at all! After all, this is a retelling. Although I do have many elements from the original myth in my plot, I also have other plot points I created that will further Underworld to it's full potential.
Expect some new relationships, exploration of famous myths and of course....that good old Olympian family melodrama ;)
II. Is Underworld potentially the beginning of a new series? Can we expect any sequels?
Interesting question. As of right now I do plan for at least two more sequels to further develop the myths Hades and Persephone are involved in.
