It was a friday, after going home from school, when Gabby's parents told him the big news. They were going to a new place. A far away land called the USA.
"I received a job offer and i accepted" said Peter, Gabby's dad. "It's better cause it has a higher salary"
"I hope you understand Gab cause things get harder here in the Philippines" said Mary, Gabby's mom.
They think I'm sad thought Gabby
But he was not sad. He was happy. He was looking for an opportunity like this years ago. The opportunity to restart. He was tired of bullies, teachers who were always angry and tired of people who call him stupid, weirdo and shit.
"When and where?" asked Gabby
"In two weeks." replied Gabby's dad. "Boston."
"Its fine with me." said Gabby with a smile. "Its for my own good anyway."
"Thanks son." Both parents stood up and hugged him. "Surely your friends will be sad."
Shit . Gabby forgot about his friends, Red and Chris. I need to tell them. I hope they understand.
"Surely they will understand. They know its for the best" thought Gab as he removed himself from his parents embrace.
And so Gabby ran to his room, picked up his phone and stared at the window. He dialed Red's number and waited.
Finally someone picked it up.
"Oh hi Gab!" said Angel, Red's girlfriend.
"Hi 'Gel! I need to talk to Red."
"Oh wait he's in the toilet."
Gab heard a flush.
"So Gab here's Red." said Angel
"Wassup man? Something wrong?" asked Red
"Yeah i need to talk to you and Chris. Meet me at the meeting place and uh tell Chris."
"Sure thing." replied Red
Then Gab hung up, stood up, got his bike and went to the meeting place.
