"Charless!" Henry's tone of voice switched between serious and lighthearted within a matter of seconds. Primarily considered the information that he was nearby the presence of the man who stole his heart, and lived in his mind rent free.
This man, Charles, halted in his tracks to allow the other to catch up.  Rather odd for him to have willingly chosen to walk off without the accompany of the ONE person he really cared about within the area. Regardless, Charles was approximately 50 meters from the parks entrance//exit, meaning he could rather happily interact,  or make contact with his boyfriend (in the form of hugs, kisses, touching, etc.) without the spine-chilling feeling that someone was staring directly through his skin in a rather stalker-ish way. 

Even after he exited, Charles could shake the feeling that someone was watching him. Mia, in charles' eyes, wouldn't have gone as far as to watching Charles' moves for the petty reason of a declined invitation, however she was the only present person in the park beside the perfect duo we call Henry and Charles. At least that Charles could see. 

"You could've waited for me at the park!" Henry huffed  out between breaths, "i could have lost you somewhere if you went to explore!"

"Sorry.." Charles giggled at how he mumbled his own apology, "I just didn't exactly like the atmosphere.."

Of course, that was a  lie. but not  entirely. Half of  it was the nagging feeling that someone was  there watching him, the other half being the fact he'd rather be talking to henry alone than stuck in three person group. The only exception is  Ellie Rose herself. 

"So.." Henry straightened his posture, and coughed to clear his throat, "About what you said.."

"What about what I said?" Charles repeated with an innocent smile plastered on his face.

"You said about a date. Was that just a lie?" Charles' expression broke at the context realisation. he took the left hand of his boyfriend in his own, smiled warmly, and said,

"its not off the table. Unless you don't want to."

Henry pulled a face of surprise, soon after neutralising to string together a response. "Did you just ask me on a date..without asking me?"

"Guess I did. Is that a yes, or a no?" 

Henry stood blankly momentarily, taken aback by the believed-lie turning into the truth. All there was to change it was a simple 'yes'.

"I wouldn't deny an offer like that. one-on-one alone time sounds nice." Charles' eyes lit up from the joy of Henry's response.

"R-really?" Charles inquired. Henry gave him a gentle nod. "Alright! okay! Uh..I'll text you an address, and..meet me there at eight?"

"Makes sense. Are we parting ways no-" Before his sentence even finished, Charles has skipped off, euphoria rushing over him. "Guess we are.."

An hour after the pairing seperated, Charles had managed to pick a fancy enough restaurant to go to that both henry and charles could reach without getting lost. Now, he was never the type of person to spend much time looking over restaurants, but for Henry, he wanting to make the date impressive and romantic. 

Heck, he even planned on going up to a rooftop to stargaze afterwards. Its the least he could do for the jackpot of a guy he called his boyfriend.

However, something felt off. Maybe it was the fact he has never been on a date with another guy before. Or maybe its the anxiety of messing up in-front of one of the most meaningful people in his life as of this moment in time.

Clothing was another roadblock. The dates he had been on prior were with ladies he had never felt much attraction to besides platonically, so their opinion of what he looked like didn't much affect him. Henry, of course, is different. Charles actually feels an element of romance and love towards him.

As if perfectly aligned with Charles' sigh, his phone buzzed. Swiftly, he rummaged through his pockets and punched in his phone number.

None other than ellie had texted him. She sent a simple, 'Hey, dude. i heard you're  going on a date with henry ;)'

"huh?" he expressed his confusion aloud. "how did she?"

'Henry told you?' 

'Mia did.' 

This response struck Charles with even more confusion. Ellie was eventually going to find out, but contrary to his belief on how, Mia had spread the information about the date to her, ignoring the fact Ellie may not have needed to know in the first place. 

'ah. i see.'

'she seemed to feel rather strongly. whats up with that?'

Charles didn't really like to tell everyone every little detail of his life, but in this scenario, he felt the had to.

'She got upset when I told her I had plans. maybe she's just pissed over the fact I am spending time with him rather than her?'

'I guess that makes sense. Anyways..what kinda date are you two going on? i'm happy to give as much information and assistance I can beforehand. i wouldn't want to drag myself on the date too lmao.'

'yeah, uh...' Charles stared at his mirror reflection. 'i've never been on a date with a guy before-'

'trust me, i have had experience with going on dates with guys before. but you have the advantage of knowing what guys like rather than shooting in the dark and wishing you hit a jackpot. '

'You're right there. But i don't exactly know if we share ALL the same  likes and dislikes. We are practically polar opposites.'  

He's not wrong. He was working for the government as henry was trying to rob banks and steal valuable diamonds. The ex-criminal X pilot dynamic wouldn't work so well if they hadn't gained soft spots for one another.

'yeah, yeah. but you're his best friend! surely you know what he likes and dislikes in GENERAL?'

'boyfriend.' When the message sent, Ellie stopped typing. 

Charles smiled dumbly, a blush across his face.

'he's my boyfriend.'

Im trying to get back into writing but i had to practically force myself to. not doing the greatest right now in terms of stress and shit, but all i really want is to keep you guys happy. im sorry for how slow i update lol.
