“Honey, the limo’s here soon!” Chris voice rang throughout the penthouse suite at a five star hotel in Los Angeles.

The Emmy’s where being held here so a day ago we had driven from Orange Country to L.A, so that we would have time getting ready. I had been freaked when we were packing because I would be damned if I forgot to bring something. The dress and those amazing earrings had been the first, then the shoes and lastly the rest of my jewellery as well as my make-up. There were so many things I needed to bring to make sure I wouldn’t miss anything with the outfit and there were so many things I wanted to bring in case I forgot something else. To say that I was being compulsive would be an understatement. Chris eventually stepped in and told me I had ten minutes to pack the final things before we would leave or that we would make a short list; that way I wouldn’t have to bring everything I owned.

I smoothed out the dress subconsciously, feeling a bit insecure about how I looked. It did look even better now along with the right accessories, shoes and well, my hair being up in a tight bun, making my hair look really glossy and attached to my head basically. It was tied in the back of my neck so pretty low.

My eyeliner was pretty thick and done in a cat- eyeliner way and my lips painted in a dark, slightly metallic purple. It made it look a bit on the Goth side, in all honesty but I wanted some color since my dress was champagne colored and my jewelry in black, silver or white. It was nice spicing it up a bit.

I loved my shoes; they were pumps with a high plateau, then a strap connecting the back of the heel to the top strap covering my toes. The strap had a pretty big, star- at least it looked like a really spiky star in dark silver. They were really cool and added something edgy to the whole look that I considered would be pretty elegant otherwise but now it had some edge to it.

Walking out of the bedroom and into the bathroom where Chris was I saw him trying to tie his tie but he kept doing it wrong. He was dressed in a gray suit with pants in the same color and fabric, along with one of the new shirts we bought. To that he had a simple black tie that wasn’t as simple to get into place.

I placed my hand on his shoulder and looked at his face through the mirror. His eyes turned to me and both of our lips curved up into small smiles. Pulling a bit on his shoulder I managed to turn him around and put my hands on his- removing them from the tie. Fumbling with untying the slight mess he had created, I grabbed the two ends of the tie and started bring the tie together.

I patted his hard chest when I was done with the tie.

“They ya go.” I pecked his lips.

“Thanks babe.”

I walked back into the bedroom. “I’m just gonna grab my purse and I’m ready to go.”

When I had grabbed my clutch that was covered in black and silver sequins, I put it under my left arm and linked my right hand with Chris. We walked out of the door and towards the elevators. Our room was on the seventh floor and I really did not want to walk in heels let alone a long gown in stairs and I doubted Chris was in the mood to work out in suit. The elevator arrived and we stepped it, not that long after we were walking through the lobby towards the entrance where we could see a black limousine waiting for us through the windows.

The doorman, who was dressed in a long black suit and a top hat, opened the door for us and I thanked him with a small smile. When the limousine driver spotted us, he dropped his cigarette and straightened up after leaning against the car. He went to the door and opened it for us and I went in first. Managing to slide in without tripping on my dress or showing my goodies I settled in the corner and waited for Chris to get in. Once we were all ready and the driver had got to the front and started up the car we were on our way.
