Nine

We had been in California for a week now and Chris was even more pissed off at Brian, if that now was possible. After the dinner a couple of nights ago I explained the whole ordeal to him as we laid in bed right before we would go to sleep. Now that I think about it I should have told him in the morning because Chris was so tense and couldn't sleep, he was squirming as well as tossing and turning all night. It kept me awake so we were both on edge the day after.

Almost all of our furniture had arrived so the house almost felt a home now, it just needed some more pictures on the walls and plants to make the environment feel more relaxed. Sure there were a few things missing when it came to decorations and furniture, such as Chris gym equipment and our kitchen table though our kitchen chairs were here. So we just ate at the kitchen counter or outside on our new wooden chairs and table.

The one main thing we really were in need for and that we didn't have was, food. So as soon as Chris had left to go to the gym and sweat a bit, I went through my newly bought closet trying to find what to wear since it was raining today. I settled for a pair of grey denim jeans, a black shirt resembling a poncho as it draped over my arms nicely and a nice leather jacket. My red converse were tied on my feet and a black/grey cap was sitting nicely on my head, to prevent the rain from ruining my recently straightened hair. My bag was filled with the usual as my cellphone, keys, wallet, sunglasses- not that I would use them and an umbrella if I felt like I needed it.

Before I walked out the door I made sure that I had grabbed the car-keys and then locked the front door, running to the driveway as I hurried to get in the car. The rain was really pouring and I was already soaked from being outside for less than a minute!

When I arrived outside of the grocery store, I yanked my bag out of the car and slammed the door shut as I rushed inside. Once I was inside I grabbed a cart and threw things we needed into the cart. There was a business meeting that I needed to attend at and it was around lunch time, so I knew I needed at least a good hour at home to get ready before I arrived at the restaurant we would be eating at. We were going to discuss the future of the series as well as upcoming movies since my manager had told me I had a few offers which would require me to take some time of from recording 'Murders Edge'.

The cart was filled with a large variety of vegetables and fruit, since we ate a lot of them. Meat was a huge part of our daily intake as well as some Red Bull's, beer and booze, because we could always use some wine if we had some guests over.

I had been here for almost half an hour and that's when I decided that we had everything we needed for now so I headed to the register. There was barely any line probably because it was only 10 a.m so I headed straight to the register and placed my items on the treadmill belt. The total costed about 50 dollars which was a pretty small amount for all the items I bought, so I felt pretty happy about that.

I sighed as I remembered that I needed to get all three bags outside and load them into the truck, in the rain. My decision to run through the rain was a bad one as one of my tote that I remembered as I broke was made out of paper. It was not helping as all my things scattered through out the entire parking lot and that I was getting more soaked by each passing second. I decided to throw in the other two remaining totes before they would get wet and break too, then I quickly picked up all the scattered items one by one.

A can of olives was at the edge of the parking lot where the side-walk began. I reached out to grab it but someone else beat me to it. I lifted my head and straightened myself as I saw Brian standing there with a reached out arm, giving me the can. It was only my luck that would make this happen, of course Brian would be the 'saviour' in this. He was not going to hear me say a word to him if he expected that. In my eyes I barely saw him beside a guy who shattered my heart three years ago and that I regretted those seven years before with him. Brian was soaked too and his hair was sticking to his face, his eyes filled with sadness as I could tell. He had that puppy face that he always had when he felt bad.

All he got was a small smile from me as I grabbed the can and got in the car, driving home.

I smoothed out the bottom of my dress as I looked myself in the mirror. My dress was pretty loose at the top, almost like a tunic and black then the 'skirt' part of the dress was a bit tighter fitted with black and white patterns. I had painted my nails in a dark red / pink nail polished and matched my lipstick in a similar colour. An envelope clutch in the same colour was tucked under my arm, with only my cellphone, wallet and keys in it. I wore a simple pair of black heels to the outfit.

I had my usual simple eye-liner done and my hair was in loose curls, I was satisfied with my look. There was most likely going to be a lot of paparazzi outside of that restaurant since it was highly visited by celebrities so they always waited outside. I slipped on a couple of bangles in real silver before I headed to the restaurant. Thankfully it had stopped raining about half an hour ago so I didn't need a jacket but just in case I put one in the back of my car.

Now all I hoped for was that the meeting would turn out fine and that I didn't get more workloads.

The meeting had gone well, we all agreed that I would take 6 months off in 1 month after my vacation was done to record a new movie than I would have to work during weekends since I would need to record new episodes for 'Murders Edge'. It was going to be a tight schedule and hard but I would find a way to make it work. I always did. If things would get too much and stressing me out I could always run back here to my second home in California.

After the meeting Leana had called me, wondering if I was available for a night out with the girls and guys. I had called Chris, he told me he would meet up with an old friend for beers so he couldn't come but he wished me luck in case something would happen. He also told me to give him a call if Brian gave me any trouble which I really hope he wouldn't. All I needed was a night to celebrate my so far perfect life!
