Third person POV

Piper Thompson, who in the eyes of many, was the 10th grade's "it girl".

Her life was rather easy, after all, living surrounded by her family's money and wealth had its benefits. Personal drivers to take you anywhere you want, chefs that can cook the most delicious and exotic meals, maids to make sure the littlest things are rightfully cleaned, and a butler to take care of everything around the house. At home, all her wishes were handed to her by the simple snap of a finger. In short, she was your idea of a spoiled rich kid. And we all have seen how those types are.

At school however, things were a little different. For the longest time now she has lived under a shadow, that particularly, would follow her around everywhere she went. People only knew her name if it was followed by her name afterwards. Although that "light" gave her everything she craved for and more, she was starting to get tired of it, she needed something, or rather someone, to make her shine brighter and, finally, escape the darkness that was living under Addison Rae's shadow, the senior year's "it girl", the entire school's "it girl", the light. In other words, the most popular girl in school. But for Piper that was only temporary, she had a plan.

It is common knowledge that every popular kid needs someone to call a nemesis, in Addison's case that was Dixie D'Amelio, she was seen as the school's rebel girl. Tough home life, and with no real friends, she imposed fear on those who dared to meet her eyes while she walked down the hallways. She had a rule, don't speak unless spoken to, and apparently, she took that very seriously.

People dread their life's when they are around her, they'd all heard stories about her and none of them would like to be the protagonist in the next one. The only ones who didn't seem to fear for their lives were the girls she had hooked up with, and there were a lot of them.

Except, there was something people didn't know about, and it was that her relationship with her parents was complicated. The lying, the insults, the mind games. With time they all twisted and shaped her so aggressively, she took the form of a shiv, sharp and deadly. The perfect weapon, for the perfect murder. But Dixie, she had been dead inside for a long time.

As for Addison, she was the golden girl. Perfect looks, perfect grades, perfect personality, loved by all. Also from a very wealthy family, probably the richest in the whole state. But, she had something different about her, that not many people knew about. A couple months ago when her parents sent her to a summer camp, she discovered herself as a lesbian.

One night, while everyone was sleeping, a couple of her girl friends she had met there, invited her to go swim in the lake. After a lot of convincing and assuring her no one would find out, Addison decided to go with them. When they arrived, the other girls started to take off their clothes, so she did the same. After being only in a bikini, she realized the rest of the group was already swimming, so she joined them. At some points she got herself staring at her friends in a different way, she quickly tried to shake off those thoughts, but for some reason, they always found a way to sneak back into her mind.

When they were drying off, one of them suggested they should go back to the cabin and play truth or dare. Not wanting that night to end, Addison agreed. After a couple of rounds, it was finally her turn.

- Ok Addi, you're turn, truth or dare? - One of her friends asked.

- Um, dare - she pondered for sometime before answering. The girl in front of her saw an opportunity, and a malicious smile was founded on her face.
