Kaida Pov

Once the squads are done choosing I meet up with Asta and Yuno ."So the golden dawn, crimson lions and the black bulls. The real battle starts now" Asta says with that same old grin on his face. "Don't get cheeky now Asta if anything you gained a rival with that Golden Dawn captain" I give out a little laugh elbowing Yuno.

"yeah, we'll see-" Yuno gets cut off by Asta yelling about going to the bathroom. I swear that guy is such a dummy sometimes. I'm about to walk away when Yuno grabs my arm and drags me along to where the bathrooms are. I see that weird guy Asta fought earlier using his magic to try and attack him while in the bathroom. 'Man, how pathetic do you have to be to attack someone in the bathroom' I sweat drop as Yuno uses one of his spells to create a wind bird and break the other mage's magic. 

I can tell the guy was a little more than intimidated by Yuno's presence as he starts to sputter excuses and such to him. Soon after that Asta exits the bathroom talking about how great he felt after and I can't help the grin that spreads on my face. 'I'm going to miss that idiot and Yuno too'  With that thought I say my goodbyes and head over to where Captain Fuegoleon stood with the rest of the new recruits. 

I can feel my palms start to sweat as I get closer to the group. Almost everyone had on fancy clothes and a noble aura surrounding them. I stand off to the side as Captain Fuegoleon begins talking about the expectations of being apart of his squad. I try to listen as closely as possible but Dansu decides this is the time to start lecturing me on the battle we had earlier. 'I can't believe you let that weak human get the best of you. I thought you would know better his presence was to easy to detect but you were to busy following his mana. Keep acting so reckless and you'll end up buried in the ground like the rest' 

'I get it you annoying dust dragon. I'll make sure to be careful next time but can you shut up now you made me miss half the things my captain has said.'  and with that thought he quiets down for now at least I know he will pop up when I least want him to like always. I focus back on my new captain only to see everyone walking into a portal made by one of the Crimson Lions. I quickly run to catch up to them and I can feel eyes on me. I look  up to see a kid maybe a few years older than me with soft red hair and a ponytail. 'Crap who is that guy? Did I miss something?' 

[ Time skip to after the tour of base]

Once we got to base and showed where everything was it was time to be shown to our rooms. All the new recruits had an older member show them where to go. I happened to get stuck with that weird guy who was watching me earlier. "I am Leopold Vermillion" he says extending his hand out to me. "uh I am Kaida of Hage village" I take his hand and give it a quick shake before drawing back. My arms stiffen at my side 'This is the Captain's brother and he is showing me to my room. damn it why him of all people? maybe Captain doesn't trust me so he is sending his brother to watch me'

We stop at a fancy looking door and I can't help the shock that's on my face. "What? have you never seen a door before. Just wait until you see what's inside" Leopold says with a hint of amusement. My shock is quick to turn into annoyance at the smug look he has. "I've seen plenty of doors just none that look like this. Anyways is my roommate inside already or what " I ask as he opens the door. 

"Roommate? What are you talking about?" he asks as we step into the most luxurious looking room I have ever seen. I look at everything in awe. A desk and chair made of dark wood sits neatly in the corner, a bed made out of the same wood with crimson sheets and pillows, and a dresser. All the décor was red or a nice gold color. "Telling by your face you like the room then" he says taking a seat at the desk. 

"I've never really had a room to myself before. Are you sure this is the right room?" I can't help to ask as I walk over to the window draped with crimson curtains. He gives a chuckle as if it's the most absurd question. "What do you mean you've never had your own room? didn't your parents let you have a room to yourself" he says giving me a strange look. 

Pain pangs at my heart as I think about my parents. 'It hurts even thinking about them. It's been so long since that day and I have been so good at forgetting that it barely crosses my mind anymore. Man I wonder how mad they at me for joining the magic Knights. I can see it now my dad would lecture me on how I should've become a blacksmith like him and my mom would hit him saying how I should've been a baker like her' 

I guess I was thinking  longer than I thought because I felt Leopold grip my shoulder and give me a rather concerned look. "Are you okay Kaida?" "Uh yeah sorry I was just thinking about my parents" I give a forced grin and start heading for the door. "Hey can you show me where the dining hall is again. This place is so big it's like a maze" I laugh out as he gives me another concerned stare. He shakes off whatever he was thinking and follows me out.

Yo, I am so sorry this must be the absolute most boring chapter ever but I promise it has some Relevancy.
