Shots were flying and I couldn’t think or move. Before I could get shot I was shoved down to the floor by someone. I decided the best place for me right now was behind so I ran as fast as I could. Right now I was in fight or flight and all I wanted to do was fly away from this situation.

Once I finally got behind the counter I hugged my knees to my chest and tried to calm myself. It was no use though. I was in a shoot out and nothing could fix that. The counter is only about five feet long so I was freaking out. I didn’t have much to cover me.

I was freaking out that I have never been in love. I was freaking out that I could die at any moment. As I sat behind the counter with my knees to my chest, I felt a body press against me. I look over and see a man.

He had a slight five o’clock shadow on his face. While his face had beads of sweat dripping down his face while his hair was messy like he had run his hands through it a few times. His eyes were so green that you could almost catch a hint of yellow in them.

“Hey you okay I saw you looked like you were kinda freaking out?” he kinda yelled as he asked me the question.

“What do you mean if I okay? Someone just shot someone, of course, I’m not okay” I yelled.

Just then the bullets stopped and I heard a loud thump on the floor is me. I stood up and looked over the counter to see the man who was holding the on gun me earlier was on the floor surrounded by blood with a shoot to his head.

The chairs and tables were scattered across the room gun shotts all over the place. The man who was in the middle now known as Enzo stalked toward us.

“Gino you better have this place all cleaned up by sunrise,” Enzo said then walking out to his car and driving away. It was obvious he was the boss and my ideas were correct, he tells them what to do and walks away.

“so…Gino care to explain what the actual fuck happened?” I yelled as I swung my arms around emphasis on the mess of the room.

“Calm down little one it’s only a little mess. Ill have Leo take you home and you can go home and act like nothing happened when you come to work tomorrow.” he motioned for Leo to come over.

The name so-called Leo looked kinda like Gino although everything on his face said, player. His eyes were blue, any girl would fall for them. His hair was brunette and looked like it had some gel in it to keep it in place, although it wasn’t needed.

“What the fuck I’m not just going to go home with some strange killer man!” I yelled.

“Hey I’m not strange” Leo cut in. He spoke in a low sad tone.

“Well, then how about I drive you and on the way, I can call the cleanup crew so Leo doesn’t have to get his pretty little hands dirty?” he asked us both.

“Okay that seems nice and this all better be gone by the time I come in tomorrow or I’m going to track you all down and… and…slice all your tires.”

As Gino and I walked over to his car it was awkward, almost as awkward as the car ride to my apartment. All we did was talk about the songs on the radio, which might I say really boring.

He dropped me off in front of my building. I walked in and within seconds I was in bed snoring asleep. I was too scared of what just happened to even stay awake.

Did I just get a ride from a mafia man? Where are they going to kill me? What do I do? Do I tell someone?
