More Than Friends ~ Vernon x Nancy

Chapter 2

In the next couple weeks, Vernon and Nancy had to discuss with their respective companies, asking how they could go about dating. Vernon thought, after three years after their reunion, he was a little suspicious about Nancy. He started noticing that Nancy had made it a little obvious that she has a crush on him. He doesn't mind because he likes her back, and they feel like they could really hit it off as a couple. After a long, long discussion, Vernon and Nancy's companies had given them permission to date. This made them really excited to try out dating because they hadn't dated a celebrity before. All the other times, Vernon being honest, hasn't really dated a celebrity before. He only has dated non-celebrities, and he wasn't really open about talking about his past relationships, only mentioned his past girlfriends, but never said much past that. He would rather keep that type of stuff private. It is a smart thing because he's famous, and if he made his relationships public, he risks his girlfriend getting attacked by bad fans. For Vernon to start dating Nancy, another K-Pop idol, he knows he has to be extra careful. Both SEVENTEEN and MOMOLAND are fairly popular groups in their own right, so they are going to keep the relationship for now just to be safe.

Vernon and Nancy planned their first private date at the SEVENTEEN dorms while all the other members weren't around. It would be incredibly chaotic if all the other 12 members were present while Vernon and Nancy were having their date. Vernon explained to his members that he's inviting over his special someone and he needs the dorm to himself. Understanding of him, all the members left, and allowed Vernon to have the dorm. Nancy comes over, wearing a more casual outfit since they can't really go out for dates. Vernon's cute idea for a date is a little English study date with a couple glasses of wine (note: both of them are adults and are of legal drinking age in Korea). When Nancy saw the set up of candles in the middle and notebooks with English textbooks next to them, Nancy squealed of excitement.
"Oh my God. . . This is the cutest!" Nancy exclaimed.
"Haha, I knew you'd love this." Vernon said, smiling.
"Are we gonna have a study date?" I asked.
"Yep." Vernon said.

Vernon pulls out a chair for Nancy and she takes a seat. He pours out a glass of red wine, he wants this to be a chill study session. Although both Vernon and Nancy have American parents, they grew up, for most of their lives, in Korea. Vernon has an American mom and Nancy has an American dad. Vernon's dad is Korean and Nancy's mom is Korean. That is one of the things they bonded over, along with both being K-Pop idols. They started studying together, starting with level 3 English. They also grew up speaking English to their American parents who don't really speak Korean, but they admit that they are more fluent in Korean now. Sometimes, they forget a few words in English. They got really excited when they both agreed that they forget English words, saying; "Yeah, yeah, yeah!" During their study session, they got bored of studying and just ended up drinking two or three glasses of wine, and just chatting. As they are a little tipsy, they were getting all up in their feels, and had some deep conversations, having a mix of English, Korean, and Konglish.

By the end of the night, Nancy ended up laying her head on Vernon's shoulder, beginning to fall asleep. Afraid to move, Vernon stays as still as possible. Around this time, the rest of the members came through the door, talking as they walked through the dorm. Vernon put a finger to his lips and motioned for them to be quiet because Nancy is sleeping. Eventually, Vernon had to carry Nancy to his bedroom and laid her gently down into his bed. He moved the blankets out of the way, then tucked her in a bit. Then, Vernon climbs into bed next to her and starts spooning her, a little smile on his face. They fell asleep next to each other, just enjoying the presence of each other. That next morning, Nancy had a bad hangover because she tends to not drink very often. She only really drinks when she's off with friends, but doesn't have a very high alcohol tolerance. Vernon had to help her sober up a little bit. The best hangover remedy in Korea is this hangover soup called: Haejang-guk. Vernon, being the gentleman he is, brought in the soup for Nancy and placed it on a little table like presenting a breakfast in bed.

Once Nancy finished eating the Haejang-guk, she said,
"Thanks so much for this, Vernon."
"No problem. I just want to make sure you're okay." Vernon said.
"You're the best." Nancy said.
"Aww, thanks." Vernon said.
"You're welcome. What really happened after we studied?" Nancy asked.
"Oh, you don't remember?" Vernon asked.
"Not really. . ." Nancy said.
"We just talked for a long time, then you fell asleep." Vernon said.
"Ah, nothing else right?" Nancy asked.
"What else were you thinking?" Vernon asked.
"Never mind." Nancy said, blushing.
"Ah, I get it. No, nothing like what you're thinking happened. Just so you know." Vernon said.
"Okay, just making sure." Nancy said.

Later that morning, Nancy returned to her MOMOLAND dorms. Her members had big smiles on their faces, knowing where she had been last night. Nancy only really told her members that she started dating Vernon recently. In the past, since the fans had dug deep and found those old portfolios of Nancy and Vernon from their modeling days, then started shipping them. Some fans even made some edits about them too, which are really good. Nancy was a little spooked when she found those edits because she thought people found out that she's dating Vernon. Then, she checked the dates on the Tweets and TikToks, and saw that those edits were made before they even started dating. She became relieved when she realized that, and finds it cute that people already ship them. Little do the fans know. . . They are already dating.
