Zane hadn't left her side for a moment, and it was like she was being constantly reminded of a ghost clinging to her.
Okay, so that wouldn't be the complete truth.
One, he wasn't clinging to her. Two, no ghosts in horror flicks looked as attractive as this guy. In fact, Fabrianne wasn't ashamed to admit to herself that he was the most attractive person she had laid eyes upon yet. He made all those hours imagining the perfect hero for her books seem like they had been in vain. Next time, she might as well imagine any dark haired hero by slapping his face onto their fictional selves.
Currently, she - or they - was making her way to the garden.
Ceanview High had the best garden ever. Apart from the usually almost vacant library, Fabrianne and her two best friends loved to spend free time in the garden. Most students spent their time in the cafeteria, and solely because of the lack of peace in there, they decided to make the garden their eating spot. It had been like this since the first week. Her school was like a mix between a private and a public school. The architecture of the building was splendid, and reminded her of castles with a modern touch to them. That was the only good thing about her school. Considering how the teachers were quite rotten in their own ways.
Entering the garden, Fabrianne instantly inhaled the fresh air. It was cold but a refreshing kind. Even if there wasn't any breeze and the plants were all still, she was still greeted by the sweet aroma of mixed flowers. Some were familiar while others were still foreign to her senses, even after being here for two years.
A small smile tugged her lips upwards, and she had stopped walking for a moment. So had Zane. Confused but determined, Fabrianne turned to look at him. He seemed to be taking in his surroundings like she had, only every thing was foreign and alien to him. The boy had pulled on a grey beanie, and she somehow felt irritated seeing how it covered his hair. It was a possibility, that she had fallen in love with his hair.
"Why are you following me?", she had been ignoring the thought for long, but now it didn't seem like just a coincidence. "Funny of you to point it out now", his voice was smooth and lacked all emotion, just like those grey steely eyes of his that focused on her timid form.
Still, she refused to cower beneath his gaze or his lofty form. With brows furrowed at his comment, the female was trying to come up with something to say when a familiar shout filled both their ears.
"Hey Fab! Over here!", it didn't take long for her to find the source of that voice. Sage and Adelita were both seated at their usual spot outside.
Ignoring the burning gaze to the side of her head and face, she hurried over to the bench and table that was occupied by two other people other than her friends. She settled beside Sage, Adelita seated on the curly haired female's other side with Sage being in the middle. Across from them, two people took up space.
"Isn't this convenient? We're all stuck together again", the boy sitting across from Sage spoke as soon as Zane slid in beside him. Fabrianne hadn't bothered to look his way despite wanting to.
"Time for intros, I'm Axel. Your everyday happy go lucky boy who's ready to lend a helping hand".
"You wouldn't lend anyone your shoe".
"And this girl is my older by a few months sister, Blaire, the mood, bossy and bipolar hag". Fabrianne was quite sure the table moved a bit, and it wasn't that difficult to pin point the reason seeing the pleased expression on Blaire's face and the wince produced by Axel.
