Chaotic. Confused. Elation.

Those would be the seemingly perfect words Fabrianne would have used to describe the atmosphere of her classroom. Surely the noises coming from the hallway indicated that they weren't the only ones making such a ruckus or left in this predicament.

They were teenagers. And teenagers tended to be quite the curious beings at time. You'd tell them to not do something, expect them to jump straight in and go against your wishes.

Mrs.Greta had left a few minutes prior, taking along Mr.Rudolph with her, and leaving behind the message that another teacher will be with them shortly. And true to her words, another teacher did in fact march in the classroom of screaming banshees. Figuratively speaking.

Miss Theresa, a small, petite and frail woman well above her early forties, spoke up with a surprisingly loud but well familiar voice, "Alright settle down you little imps!", once again, just like Mrs.Greta, her voice did wonders, "Now, I'm going to call your names one by one according to this list of names I have here, and I want you to get up and sit down on one seat from each pair of seats starting from here", she pointed to the first row nearest to the door and at the table where a scrawny looking boy, Jake Miles, sat slumped in his seat.

"These will be your permanent seats", she declared, an evil glint in her eyes, and surely she was enjoying the horror struck faces of each student, including Fabrianne and her friends'.

"What! Why?".

"But I always sit here with Lily!".

"Actually I can't sit at the back because my eyesight is weak".

Fabrianne had had the sudden urge to pull out her ear plugs, which were resting on the study table of her bedroom, and stuff her ears with them, when hearing the rising shouts and noises of complaints from almost every student.

From beside her, Sage poked her rib just as she felt something hard and thin slide across her back. Letting out a yelp, the girl turned to look at both her grinning friends who were unaffected by the glare sent their way and were trying to pull off the 'I didn't do it' look. They were failing rather expertly.

"So, what do you think's gonna happen?". Adelita twirled the metallic ruler in her hand, swinging it back and forth. "Well we'll be having new classmates".

"No kidding Sage, really?". Adelita's sarcasm was welcomed at all times.

"Oh shut up", a snicker left the curly haired girls lips, as she continued, "I mean for once I'm not sure. It literally came out of nowhere. What do you think Fab?".

"Sara and Lily were talking about it just now, so I wasn't that surprised".

"They were?".

"Yeah, I mean they were right behind us".

Surprisingly but fortunately they had exchanged seats with Adelita at the last moment, just as Mrs.Greta left. Fabrianne couldn't take another moment listening to them gossip. "I was listening to the lecture, woman".

"Nerd", both Fabrianne and Adelita chorused.

Sage furrowed her eyebrows, "It's called being prepared for the future and being free of regrets".

"Still a nerd", Adelita poked her arm with the end of the ruler, and Sage smacked it away causing it to once again land on the floor.

Fabrianne ignored them but continued quickly just in case a war broke out between the two, "And the students are already here from what I've picked up on. I just hope we sit close to each other".
