Lydia's POV
Today was actually better than I thought it would be. Sure it had a little bit of a rough start, but other than that, today was a good day. Cole was actually nice to me and made me feel welcomed. Oh and he personally made sure that I wouldn't get lost at the school, whenever a period would end he'd already be at the door waiting for me. He's actually kind of sweet, and he let Alek and I sit at his table, after they realized that they were both just helping me. I may actually like living here, but I need to find some places to have fun. I can't just sit at home, go to school, and drive around the town like a maniac. I'll have to ask Cole tomorrow at school.
I look at the clock in my room to see that it's 6:45 and groan. I've been sitting here for the past hour bored out of my mind. I already did my homework, took me like an hour at most. My old school was very advanced so I already learned all that I'm learning now. It's just a matter of my teachers getting caught up to where I was before. So until then I can basically do whatever I want in class.
I decide to go for a quick swim before dinner; I mean why have a pool if you're not going to use it, right? I change into my striped hot pink and black bikini, slip on my black flip flops, grab my towel and head downstairs. I take my time getting to the pool, thinking about cheer leading tryouts today. I made the team, but I'm not the Captain or Co-Captain. This is going to be very different for me, considering that I have been Captain for my cheer leading team for the past two years. Hopefully I'll make my way up to being Co-Captain and then eventually Captain.
I walk outside and realize that I'm at the pool, I was so into my own thoughts that I didn't even notice where I was. I put my towel down on one of the chairs and put my flip flops to the side. I hear the sound of a basketball dribbling and guys shouting and realize that my brother has some friends over. Oh well, I don't care. I have no shame when it comes to my body, so them being here is just whatever to me.
I walk over to the diving board, and do a couple of jumps to test it out before I do a clean dive into the pool. The water is warm but cool, it's so refreshing and nice. I swim half-way across the pool before I come back up for air. It takes me a second for the water to clear from my ears, and I start to hear clapping. I gasp and turn around to see Alek, Cole, and the guy from history class, I think his name is Blake, and some other guy that I don't know or recognize.
"Scared you, sis?" Alek asks laughing at me
"Well I didn't know that you guys were there, I didn't even know that you had company until I heard you guys playing some basketball. By the way Alek, you broke your promise." I say with a small pout at the end that immediately puts Alek on edge.
"What promise? I didn't break a promise, at least not intentionally." He says getting worried. I inwardly laugh at him but continue my upset act.
"You promised me that we'd be the first to play on the new court. That I'd have the privilege of beating you first, and now I can't because you guys already played on the court." I look down and stifle a laugh when I hear him freak out even more. God it's so much fun to play him like this.
"Oh God! I'm so sorry, I forgot. I'm such a bad brother. How can I make it up to you? I'll do anything."
"Anything?" I give him a devilish grin and he audibly gulps. The three other guys are just looking back and forth between us, completely at a loss as to what is going on. Then I catch Cole looking at me, and not just my face. God he has to stop checking me out.
