Tulia and Charles were currently spending the morning together. The two were certainly getting on a hell of a lot better than they did when they were children. Although they were having personal chats that they would not have with other members of court, aside from their family members, Tulia could not help but think that they were too formal. It was almost as if the young prince was forcing himself to be around her, she knew that with time would come comfort but she was beginning to worry that it would never happen.

"I hope you realise, Charles, how vital our commitment will be to each other in the future." Tulia stated, ending their previous conversation about weather differences between Ireland and France.

"You don't have to worry about that Tulia." Charles smirked, looking at the Queen with a strangely cocky expression. "I know that I am young and you assume that I'm inexperienced, but I promise that I will give you an heir."

Tulia's face went as red as her hair at his response. She was embarrassed yet amused, the young prince was so sure of himself.

"Actually." Tulia coughed, trying to collect herself quickly. "I was talking about the future of the alliance, between France and Ireland."

"Oh well, um..." Charles stutters awkwardly. "I only meant an heir will be important for the alliance."

"Of course." Tulia nods, trying to hold back a chuckle at the Princes' flustered expression.

"Oh," He pipes up, completely disregarding the tensions between the two. "I have something for you." he pulls a small purple box out of his pocket and hands it to the girl shyly.

Tulia opens it with a confused expression, she hadn't expected any gifts this early on in their relationship. Inside the purple velvet box lay a small charmed necklace. It was a golden butterfly with a dark purple gem stone as its body. The gift was small and simple but her heart swelled at his kindness.

"Charles." Tulia smiled brightly. "You didn't have to."

"I know." He grinned, obviously pleased at himself for the fact that she liked his gift. "I saw it the other day and thought of you. I imagine that you look very nice in purple."

"It's beautiful." She blushed. "I feel bad now that I did not get you anything."

"Don't worry." Charles waved off. "Can I?" He asked, motioning that he wanted to put the necklace on her himself.

"Of course." She agreed, handing him the box she turned around and moved her hair over her shoulder to give him access to the pale skin around her neck. The Queen nearly shivered as his fingers lightly brushed against the back of her neck, softly moving any stray hairs out of the way as he clasped it gently.

"There." He smiled, pulling her hair from over her shoulder so that it hung loosely down her back like it had done before. Turning around Tulia looked down at the necklace. The purple gem glimmered in the French sunlight, contrasting its dark tones with her pale skin.
