"Hey, wanna go bowling tonight? :P"

I grinned widely at the text message Jake sent me. It's been a little over few weeks, but after the first date, Jake seemed to like me more. He invited me to hang out on the second date to Starbucks a week ago so that we can get to know each other better. Jack informed that he volunteers at animal shelters in his spare time. He talked fondly about his spent time with owner-less dogs and cats, rehabilitated to a forever home. He claimed his time with them, helped him become vegan to prevent from hurting another creature.

He always sends me funny memes throughout the day. I send some selfies to him and he compliments me for being 'so beautiful'. It's a Friday night, so of course, I had nothing else to do but to go on the date. I envisioned a positive outcome with this guy and I couldn't wait for him to ask me to be his girlfriend by the end of the night.

"Sure." I texted him back.

With that all set and done, I got out of bed to commence my day. After I got dressed for Starbucks, I put my regular clothes in my backpack. After putting on a little makeup and spritzing some perfume, I walked out the door to go to work.

After I left work this morning, I tagged along with Piper, Stacey, and Lily at the student center for some lunch. Piper ranted about her classes and how some professors yelled at her for an assignment she messed up on during class.

"Wow, that's messed up," Stacey commented as she sipped on her iced coffee.

"Yeah. I tried my best not to cry, but it was difficult to keep some tears in." Piper said.

"It's okay to be expressive," I said as I rubbed her back.

The thing is about Piper is that she has high functioning autism, who claimed that she's mentally fifteen when she's really twenty-two. Life's as difficult as it is for someone without her disability; to be surrounded by authority figures who could not give two cents for another human struggle is extra frustrating. It makes me happy to know that she has someone like Kevin to treat her well, as she definitely deserves it. She would be able to deal with her emotions properly with him.

"You know, next time tell the teacher to suck it and it will solve the problem," Lily said as she ate her yogurt.

We chuckled at the thought before we grew serious over the situation.

"Just do what you need to do to pass that class and you'll never have to look at that professor again until graduation," I advised.

"Yeah, true." Piper shrugged, as she smiled at the advice.

"What are you guys doing tonight?" Lily asked.

"Um, really nothing, I'm probably going to hang out with Kevin and watch a movie, or something," Piper answered.

That's all that was needed for the girls to create evening plans. Lily might go out with some dude she met on Tinder but might ditch depending on what the plan is. Stacey would love to go to the mall nearby to get off campus for a bit, meanwhile, Piper strongly would like to stay in.

I silently listened as the girls chatted about tonight's plan. It may be stupid of me to feel left out of their plans yet somehow I do. All a sudden I felt a vibration nearby me. My eyes glanced at the girls before I reached over to open the text from no other than Jake.

"Hey, I'm heading out of work. See you soon." He said as he added a peace sign to his sentence.

The corner of my lips curved upwards as I wrote an "ok." How did I get so lucky to meet a guy like Jake?
