Meet The Family

Ali POV

As I check my hair for the umpteenth time this afternoon I hear my best friend Madison sigh behind me "Ali you look beautiful" she sighs "why are you so nervous it's just Matt"

I drop my hands to my side "it's not just Matt" I sigh "he wants me to meet his family"

The second the words are out of my mouth I feel even more nervous than I did before, "does this mean it's getting serious between you two" she asks with a shocked expression on her face.

"Yeah I think it is" I smile "I just want to make a good impression"

"They are going to love you" she says giving me a hug

I finish getting ready, applying the finishing touches to my makeup when I hear Matt toot his horn outside. I take a deep breath grab my bag and head out to his car.

I slid in to the passenger seat and Matt leans over and kisses me "you ready to go baby" he asks and I nod. I've always liked the fact that the drive to Matt's House was a short one but today I wish it was longer. Matt gives my hand a squeeze "you ok baby? You're quiet" he asks and I smile "I'm fine just nervous" I reply "Don't be, they'll love you" he says giving my hand another squeeze.

As we pull up outside his dad's house my nervous really kick in and my hands start shaking "so who am I meeting?" I ask as we get out of the car "just my dad and my brother" he says as he stops and wraps his arms around my waist "you'll be fine, I love you" he says giving me a kiss "I love you too" I reply

I hold on to Matt's hand as we walk through the door and he leads me into the living room "dad this is Ali" he says "Ali this is my dad" he says finishing the introductions.

"It's nice to meet you sir" I say offering him my hand

"Please call me Gilbert" he says shaking my hand "she's a looker" he says to Matt causing him to smile and me to start relaxing.

"Your brother is running a little late, said to start without him" he says leading us to the dining table.

"Typical Jeff" Matt sighs "why couldn't he be on time this once"

We take our seats and Gilbert dishes up the food, we make small talk and I'm feeling more relaxed by the second, Matt is starting to think his brother is going to no show when a voice calls out from the other room.

"Sorry I'm late"

"You knew this was important to me and you couldn't be on time this once" Matt snaps at him

"Matthew we have company remember" his father says

"Sorry" Matt says giving me a smile

"Sorry man I was..." the source of the voice stops in the doorway and he's looking right at me, I'm trying my best not to stare but I can't seem to move my gaze away from him. He's tall like Matt, long dark hair and the most incredible eyes I have ever seen. He's dressed in tight jeans and what looks like a t shirt with the sleeves cut off, nice to see he dressed up for the occasion.

"I'm Jeff" he says reaching his hand out to me "Ali" I say shaking his hand, the second my hand touches his a strange tingling sensation ripples through my body, what is going on? And why the hell do I have butterflies the size of bats flapping around in my stomach?

"It's nice to meet you Ali" he says taking a seat at the table and I nod and smile

Through out the rest of the meal I feel Jeff's eyes on me, each time I look up he looks away.

Jeff POV

I hadn't meant to be late I'd gone to the gym and lost track of time. I don't know what I was expecting to find when I got here but I was taken by surprise by how beautiful this woman is. It figures the most beautiful woman I've ever laid eyes on and she's with my brother, he is one lucky son of a bitch.

Throughout the meal I keep sneaking glances at her, each time she looks up I look away I don't want her to know I'm looking at her. I shouldn't be looking, she's my brother's girlfriend which means she is off limits.

I sneak another glance at her and this time she is already looking at me, I smile at her and she looks down at her plate but not before the most adorable blush forms on her cheeks.

"So Ali, you from round here" I ask, there's no harm in getting to know her right?

"Yeah, I've lived here all my life" she says

"And yet I've never seen you around, interesting" I say

"The only time I really go out is with Matt, otherwise I'm a bit of a home body" she says smiling at Matt, I see the way he looks at her and I'm glad he's so happy.

"Maybe the three of you could do something together" my dad says

"Sounds good to me" I say

"Sure we'll arrange something" Matt says "that's if you want to baby?"

"I'd like that" she says

By the end of the meal we have arranged to go bowling the following night, that should be easy enough right?
