Jack realizes your heavy discomfort and panic, he speaks up to see if he can help. "U-uhm, do you want to go outside? I Know a place pretty nice where you can relax a bit better.." he carefully whispers to you. You manage to slow your shaking enough to talk clearly to respond. "T-that'd be nice.. thank you" he smiles under his mask, he seems to have helped a little bit. "Of course, Y/N".
You bring a semi thin coat since Jack said it might be a bit of a walk, it could be night once we get over there and it gets pretty cold and windy around that time. The rain has stopped and it's pretty damp and humid, so you'll keep your coat off for now. As you get past Martin and Emmett, who I met earlier, and who I already don't like. You start your journey to Jack's spot he was talking about.
You start to spot a dock off the path you are going along on, it seems so beautiful and quiet. The low hum of the ecosystem and the flowing river water ringing through your ears, stinging them ever so nicely. Jack starts to walk over to the front of the dock and he sits down, patting the spot next to him, signing you to sit next to him. You walk over taking in the sights all around you, the swaying long leaves hanging from thin branches, the tall grass tickling your ankles and lower leg and the beautiful clear sunset glistening in your eyes. You sat down next to Jack, your knees up to chest and wrap your arms around your legs and rest your chin on the top of your knees.
The scenery Infront of you is breathtaking and takes your mind off of almost all of your worries, your brother still on your mind. Jack noticing your worried expression speaks up to help. "Hey (Y/N)? You ok?" he says with his own concern written on his features, although his mask blocks it again. To be honest, he hates the damn thing. He wishes he can just rip the damn thing off and feel the soft breeze on his rosy cheeks, and smell the wild flowers properly, and just see a damn thing without seeing a mesh everywhere.
You sigh, your breathe shaky and your mind easing up enough to form coherent words that wont immediately end up with you scrambling and breaking down over your brother's disappearance. "I- I don't know, I just forgot about my one and only blood relative who is missing right now, and now I'm stuck with people who wear masks and who go by the "Cult Family"". you say with a slight sarcasm in your tone. "No offense.", "None taken." he says understanding the whole situation is pretty stressful and scary for a young kid like yourself. Only being at 17 its all too much for a still developing brain to process. He ponders and contemplates whether or not he wants to embrace you and say everything will be ok, or let you just pour it all out while he listens.
His answer is quickly answered as you start to quiver and shake as your breathe quickens and your eyes water. He starts to panic, not knowing what to do, but before he can act you start to talk. "I'm such a moron!! Why did I let him get out of my sight?! now there's no fucking telling where he is now! HE IS GONE AND IT'S ALL MY FAULT!!! HE COULD BE DEAD AND IT'S MY FAULT, ALL.MY.FAULT!!!!".
Jack threw his arms over you and pulled you in, he didn't know what else to do, in the end both things he thought of doing earlier. You sit there, wondering what just happened. Just a second ago you were screaming and sobbing about your brother, now your mind is blank and frozen. He tightens his grip on you, not hurting you but just enough for it to be comfortable. "It's going to be ok, it will be ok, just please, don't beat yourself over it, none of it is your fault." is all he could muster up in the tense situation. Your muscles release under his touch and your mind to ease from its emptiness and turn into a comfortable silence between you two.
How did he make me feel so at ease?
So quickly?
Only Syrin ever did this to you.
Why did he help you?
Why?
