Clary's POV
I was seven years old when my mother told me that the most colorful and brightest insects were also the most venomous ones. And when I was sixteen years old I looked into your whiskey gold eyes and realized that my mother had been right all along.
And even though I was hurt by your actions and words I still had to dream about you. Not about fire. Or Valentine. But you.
I saw you in my sleep, and I kissed you and you kissed me as if I were the oxygen you needed to survive. And then I woke up. I woke up to room filled with sunshine. And coldness. And lack of your presences.
Should I be relieved or disappointed? Should I sulk for your lack of presence? Or be happy to have a night of rest without any confrontation?
How did my life get so complicate?
I got out of his bed vaguely noticing the that I was in a baggy tee and blue panties.
I walked towards the bathroom noticing when I got in that it was spotless.
Oh Jace...
I grabbed an extra toothbrush from his cabinet and started to brush my teeth. While brushing my teeth I looked at my reflection in the mirror and almost flinched at what I saw.
Oh how I wish this wasn't real. There's hope in every breath I drew that this wasn't reality. But it was real. And fear was already crawling up my veins. A scream was already to my lips.
Again I looked towards the mirror and saw the same thing: black.
My eyes were the deepest of all blacks. Blacker than the deepest part of the ocean. Blacker than the midnight sky. And blacker than the deepest parts of hell.
I put my hand to my lips to keep me from screaming out. I then heard some rusling behind the door.
"Clary?" I heard a familiar voice say.
Oh God! I can't let Jace see me like this!
I had to think of something quick!!!!"I'm in the bathroom, Jace." I said nervously.
I heard distant footsteps come closer.
"Are you okay Clary? You don't sound so great...?
"Me?" I asked stupidly, "I'm fine! Never better! I just have a upset stomach, that's all!" I laugh nervously.
"Do you want me to come in?" He asked his voice filled with concerned.
"No!" I said a little too quickly, then try to cover it up by saying, "I'll be out in a minute Jace, just let me brush my teeth."
I turned back to the mirror and was surprised to find that my black eyes were no longer there.
Of course I was relieved to have those eyes that reminded me so much of my brother's gone but at the same time it left me with so many questions.
Did I image that?
"Clary?"
"I'm coming, I'm coming." I said looking at the mirror once more but the mirror only reflected back dark forest green eyes.
"Sorry I took so long I just-" I said but stopped suddenly because there was nobody in the room.
"Jace?" I asked but was only returned with silence.
