My heart skipped a beat as I looked at the departure board seeing how all flights are cancelled out of JFK today! I thought the snow wasn't too bad in the taxi out to the airport, something was off. A rush of emotions travelled through me as I realised I wouldn't be able to see my family for Christmas. I stood there frozen with a tear in my eye which glided down my cheek gently.
"Y/N, Y/N!" yelled Noah and Millie. Suddenly I came out of my trance and slowly gulped whilst wiping my tear away, until I finally turned around to see the distress in my friends eyes staring right at me. Noah broke the silence by yelling right at me "this is a disaster!" I sighed before replying in a croaky voice "I know right".
"Don't worry guys, I am on the phone with my agent to get our hotel rooms back at the plaza" Millie said in her strong British accent. I looked at her blankly. "Did you know they are selling Florence-" Millie questioned whilst getting interrupted by Noah. "milllahhhh!" Noah screamed at her. A small smile grew on my face as I had a sense of hope.
We stood outside JFK whilst the small particles of snow landed softly onto my face. The sharpness feeling of the snowflake captivated me causing me to shiver. I saw Noah in the corner of my eye gently wrap his arm around me which made me smile. Followed by Millie who took a scarf out of her light lilac purse and smoothly bundled it around me. A gentle smile grew on my face " aww thankyou guys" I chuckled.
"ping Millie's phone buzzed. "oh dear the hotel cabs here" Millie said dramatically. me and Noah exchanged glances whilst shivering in the minus 20 degrees. "that's good isn't it?" Noah mentioned still shivering which caused his teeth to chatter loudly. I glanced at Millie who looked very frustrated. "nope, because nincompoop Tewksbury is driving it!" Millie said strongly. Me and Noah both laughed and slowly walked through the snow which pillowed around my feet. "The cab has arrived" I said quickly. Millie stormed ahead of both me and Noah and firmly planted her feet into the snow before yelling at Tewksbury.
"what the Hell took you so long, my friend nearly died from hypothermia!" she exclaimed as her face went red with fury. Tewksbury didn't answer as he gently opened the boot and grabbed our bags, whilst he glared at Millie. "I think you may have upset him" Noah laughed. I smiled and turned my glance to Millie who was standing there cross armed looking very annoyed. We all jumped into the warm car and waited for Millie who was still bossing poor Tewksbury around. We all sat in silence as we drove back to the Plaza Hotel.
