       "WE ARE GATHERED HERE to celebrate the commencement of a quest of historic importance. Finally, we will crown the world's very best." Clicking the button, I turned the volume of my phone up. "Without further ado the International Bladers' Cup is officially open!"

       I was at my recording studio, re-evaluating the lyrics of my new album. My phone was sitting in front of me, live-streaming before my eyes.

"But there is one more surprise in store and that is the last registered blader!" Hanami announces enthusiastically through his microphone. The final spotlight shone. "Emerging from seemingly out of nowhere. It's the Emperor, Kurt Baratier!"

      'Wasn't he the former champ?'

       "Hmm..." I mumble, tapping my chin. I was seated on the one-step-like bench with my back against the wall. The windows were behind me and above. In front of me was the recording room. "Should I sing this—oh what am I say? I'll definitely sing this!"

A strawberry blonde female—only two years old than me—was working on the computer and preparing the items for recording.

       'But I don't know. Would this sound obvious to the audience that I have a crush? Well never mind it's totes obvi.' I sit there, pondering about what I should change up to hide my feelings for the golden boy. 'Let's hope they don't take it the wrong way.'

       "Starlight, you ready?" Ezlynn—lovely lady using computers—asked me. She and I weren't very close—but she'll warm up to me one day!

"Yep-a-roo!"

       "Silas Karlisle! Cuza Ackermann!"

"Phone off?"

"Yes, ma'am!"

       'Aw dang it!'
