3rd Person POV

"Where have you been last night?" Jeongyeon's mom asked her as soon as she woke up.

"At Chaeyoung's." Jeongyeon opened the fridge, half-asleep, to get herself a glass of water.

"Chaeyoung's? Really?" Her mother scoffed.

"Mhmm." Jeongyeon lied.

"Then what's this?" Her mom showed her a picture.

Jeongyeon almost spat the water on her mother's face. They're exposed. After so many years of dating Nayeon, her family found out.

"W-where did you get that?" Jeongyeon nervously asked.

"I took that photo." Her unnie, Seungyeon, said as she continued eating their breakfast.

"Surprised?" Seungyeon scoffed.

Jeongyeon just became silent.

"How long have you been dating her?" Her mother asked.

"Four years." Jeongyeon answered.

"Four years?! You've been fooling us for four years already?!" Her mother's voice raised.

"What's wrong with me dating her? She did nothing wrong!" Jeongyeon clapped back.

"'Nothing wrong'? You know what they did with our company!" Jeongyeon's mother became angrier, can't believe what just her daughter said.

"You don't have any proof that the whistleblower was her sister!" Jeongyeon defended.

"They were just a small, starting company that time and her oldest daughter was working for your dad. Doesn't it sound fishy?"

"Come on! That was 15 years ago, why bring that back? And Nayeon's unnie is not immature! She will never do that!" Jeongyeon became angry.

"You met her?"

"Yes."

"So she knew about the relationship of you two?"

Jeongyeon just became silent. Yes, Nayeon's sister knew, but she decided not to tell their parents because she knows their father won't agree of them.

"Wow. Does their family have no shame?" Her mother scoffed.

"Dad was the wrong one here! He was a corrupt CEO. Why defend him?!"

"Because we're suffering! You seem to know nothing with business despite owning a café."

Jeongyeon was caught off-guard with what her mother said.

"You'll do anything just to gain money--"

"I can gain money without being corrupt. 15 years and you're still defending that dirty old man." Jeongyeon scoffed.

"How dare you disrespect your father!"

Jeongyeon went to the bathroom. To wash her face and brush her teeth.

"He's not my father. I don't claim him as my father. He never acted like one." Jeongyeon thought.

Since Jeongyeon was still a kid, his father barely spent time with her because of business. He'll also choose Seungyeon over Jeongyeon all the time, same with her mother, compare Jeongyeon to her sister all the time.

Jeongyeon can't help, but cry as she thought how unlucky she is with her family.

"I guess our 5th year will be rough."
