The day of the final trial has come. Everybody is waiting for the final verdict. The media, people of South Korea are waiting for the outcome of this case. The well-known prosecutor never thought that she will face this kind confusion in her life. Everyone is curious and excited on what will the young prosecutor do. 'Just do it Lisa, your career is at stake! Think! Think! She start speaking upon hearing the judge voice. "Your honor, before I proceed with my final statement, I'd like to submit another evidence. This is the knife that used to kill the victim, we found it at Ms. Kim's apartment on June 25 at 3:00pm. We just got the result yesterday from forensic team, we are sorry to submit just this moment." Lisa hand the evidence together with the forensic report to the judge panel. Everyone in the court room gasp. Surprised look was written in the attorney's face."Your honor, the authorities search the apartment numerous time and nothing has been found until this. Please postpone this evidence." Rosé argued. "We will consider this as evidence until the we question the forensic team." The judge stated.
"Are you sure that the knife that we found is the same murder weapon?" Lisa asked the forensic team leader. "Yes. Base on the wound of the victim, the length and the width of the weapon is identical. We also test the blood and it is identical with the victim blood." The leader explained. "That's all your honor." Lisa said. "The authorities search the whole apartment and saw nothing but out of nowhere the prosecution handed an extra evidence which is the murder weapon. Is it strange that they found it just this time? Is it possible that it could be fabricated? Maybe someone took a blood from victim's clothes and put it on the weapon. Is it possible?" Rosé question. "I can't say that your claim is scientifically impossible however, it could possibly happen-" Rosé cut the leader "so it is possible." Rosé grin a little. "That's all your honor."
Lisa is still battling with herself. Everything is going according to plan not until what she discovered.
FLASHBACK
"Hello? I need you to do something." I contact one of my trusted person to look for the murder weapon. I sent her the location of the crime scene and asked her to look and investigate. On June 25 I received a call from her. "Let's meet at the same place." She said then hung up.
When I arrive the the meeting place I approached her. "Any news?" I asked her. She handed me and envelope. I look what's inside. "I saw it 7km away from the crime scene." She simply said. "I hand this to the forensic team." We said our goodbyes. Once I enter my car I received a call from Jisoo. "Yes chu?" "They found the murder weapon in Jennie's apartment." "What?" I asked. "They found the knife under her refrigerator. Don't you find it strange? The weapon suddenly appears." Jisoo asked. I'm confused too, then a sudden realization came in to my mind. The chairman's words. He said he will do everything to out Jennie behind bars. Nope. He won't do that. I argued myself. "Meet me at the forensic lab and bring the weapon." "Okay."
After Jisoo handed me weapon I contact Dr. Kang Seulgi. She's my friend and trusted ally in forensic team. "Hey Suel, I need you to do something for me. This is important. I'll visit you at your lab." "Sure. I'll wait you here."
Once I arrive at her lab I handed her the murder weapon, one that they found in Jennie's apartment and one we found outside. "Please don't let anyone knows about it. Once you get the result contact me. And can you do it ASAP? I need to know it." I asked her. "Don't worry Lisa I'll take care of it."
After 2 days, Suelgi contacted me and told me that she already had the result. I'm surprised the outcome. Both weapon have same DNA. It's identical to the victim's blood. One of this is fabricated!
END OF FLASHBACK
"Prosecutor you can deliver your closing statement." The judge said. "Yes your honor." She took a deep breath first before proceeding. "June 23, 2019 at 7:05pm the defendant Jennie Kim lured the victim Kim Jongin to her apartment and stab him with a knife. She's indenial, and lies throughout the trial. The family is asking for a severe punishment. The prosecution state a 15 years of imprisonment according to Criminal code 32 Article 250 for first degree murder." You can hear whispers, some people said it was fair but for the others they want more. Lisa's trying to cover her emotions using a serious tone. What should I do? She keeps battling with herself. I know Jennie, we had past, this could serve as her punishment but I know deep inside my heart I still care for her. What should I do?
"Attorney, you can deliver your closing statement." "Yes your honor." She look at the crowd then to the jury and judge. "Your honor,
The prosecution argument that the defendant killed the victim using a circumstantial evidence and not beyond unreasonable doubts--" Rosé got cut off when Lisa stand up. " Prosecutor, are you aware that the attorney is delivering her closing statement?" The judge asked her.
"Your honor. I'd like to submit another evidence." This is it! "The truth is... we found another murder weapon." Everyone in the room gasp. Whispers can hear inside the court room. Rosé and Jennie are confused. "We found this weapon 7km away from the defendant apartment. It has the same blood with the victim." Everybody is waiting for her to proceed. Rosé sat down. "If we calculate the time of death, and arrival of the ambulance, thr defendant won't make it possible kill thr victim, travel that far and to dispose the weapon. Even if she have accomplice to dispose the weapon, it still impossible." Lisa explain. You won't hear anything from anyone inside the Court room. Everyone is still shocked about this revelation.
Because of this, everybody is curious what will the prosecution do next. "If you're saying is true, why are submitting this evidence just now?" The judge asked. "The truth is.. I did it on purpose. Nothing is important for me rather than proceeding with this trial however, if there is two murder weapons, one of them is fabricated." Everybody is waiting for her to continue. " According to Criminal procedure law, the prosecution would like to end the trial and dismissal of charge." After hearing those words. Each and every person in the room whispers.
