Being part of a large family meant a lot of sharing... Sharing clothes, rooms, attention, food and so much more.
Being twins meant sharing on a whole other level. People got you confused with each other and tended to hang out together and of course sharing your emotions...
Which lead to a lot of trouble on the relationship front...
Leif and Lexx were no different and in high school when a new girl joined the class both of them instantly fell in love. She was gorgeous in the best way. She was unique and radiated warmth.
She could play around in mud and rain or she could be a princess and that's what caught the twins the most. She was perfect to them. Showing interest in both of their habits and extra curricular activities. She once even helped Leif free the frogs that the biology teacher kept to dissect.
That's probably what led up to the current argument between the twins.
"I should be the one to ask her out! She's more like me than she is you!" Leif said getting in his brother's personal space who pushed him back "Yeah well I don't smell like I slept in horse dung. Besides she's more like me and deserves to get treated like a princess. Not some bug catching partner!" Lexx growled back.
The whole school was gathering around to see them fight.
(Reader) paused when she walked paused and for a moment contemplated for who she should be cheering before leaning over and asking one of the kids: "What's going on?"
The boy looked at her and shrugged "They're arguing about who gets to date you" he informed her. (Reader) silently looked at him before looking at the twins and heaving a sigh at their idiocy.
She pushed past the crowed and slipped between them, pushing them both back with a hand on their chests "Listen up" she said blankly looking between them "I am not a toy to be fought over. I'm a girl. With thoughts and opinions. I like you both but you're being so childish" she snapped at them. Both the boys looked down and away from her in shame.
"That being said. I have three challenges for you each. The one who wins the most challenges is the one I'll take on one date to see if I like you as more than friends. Fair?"
The boys stared at her for a moment before looking at each other then back at her "Fair" they echoed with a nod.
And so it started.
Three tasks. A bake off. Dance off and a kindness test that neither of the boys knew of.
Leif made her a chocolate mug cake with cherries and things and Lexx... Went overboard... The massive cake ended up nearly squashing her when it managed to topple over.
Needless to say that Leif won that round...
Lexx could dance up a storm, being delicate and graceful while Leif nearly broke (Reader's) toes, gave her a black eye and very almost breaking her nose.
Leif:1
Lexx:1The last task took more than a week to happen. (Reader) communicated a lot less with them through that week and there were a suspicious amount of people asking for their help.
Leif basically jumped at the chance to help and stay busy while Lexx was reluctant and told most of the people off...
Early Monday morning the twins got a letter to meet (Reader) at her locker in break time. The clock felt like it was ticking backwards as they waited for break where they would receive their last task...
Both the boys bolted from class as soon as the lunch bell rang, nearly running each other over when they got to her locker.
They stared at each other confused for a long moment before (Reader) cleared her throat "Hey guys" she said softly pulling their attention to her. They both instantly smiled at her.
"What's our last task?"
They asked in sync. (Reader) gave a small smile "You already did your last task... It was kindness" she said biting her lip "It was hard but I... I really want to go on a date Lexx... He didn't actually fully pass my tests but... I really like him... I like both of you but Leif I... I kind of see you as more of a brother"
They stared at her quietly for a long while before they both hugged her tightly. They pulled back and Lexx smiled brightly at her "Thank you so much. You won't regret it!" he said warmly while Leif nodded "He won't... I promise" he said with a soft smile.
The twins might have both been in love with her but one could accept that being friends... Would have to be good enough... And that nothing would ever come between them.
Not even a girl.
Welp.... Guess who's back... I actually considered ending this book because I kind of hit blank but I decided not to because it's fun writing this and I actually missed you all... Like I've said before this is a safe space and I'm always here to listen to you. If you do get crap for saying something I'll take care of it. I hope you liked this chapter. Next one will be up ASAP
