"Aye, would ya slow down, tiny?!"

(Spineling) back at the her large guard, who was struggling to keep up with her pace, a pouty look on her visage. "Would ya speed it up, jaspy?" She retorted, picking up her pace, until her feet became a cartoonish blur, kicking up a cloud of dirt and dust into the gem soldier's golden eyes, causing her to yell in surprise, frustration and mild pain from the sting of sand and the defiance of the small, puny pebble of a gem.

I can't believe this. Jasper thought with a bitter undertone as she just grunted, rubbing her eyes to rid the debris as best she could before picking up her own pace. I was a soldier. I've been fighting the moment I broke out of this prison of a planet, to fight for the empire, to avenge the fall of my diamond!

and now... now everything's just... topsy turvy!

there's no direction... no order... nothing... nothing to fight for!

and now here i am, after everything that I've worked for, I still ended up nowhere-!

"DUGH-?!"

Jasper was so caught up in her spiteful reminiscing, she failed to notice a tight bundle of undergrowth, and found her foot caught in a green tangle. Before she could she knew it, she was thrown into the ground, getting a mouthful of dirt and pebbles. At that point, her last shred of dignity was crushed, and she sighed lay there in a mound of dismal contempt.

I can't believe... it's all come down to this.

Ultimate quartz soldier jasper.

Reduced to nothing more than a mere babysitter.

"Miss jasper!"

Jasper barely had anytime to register the location of the tiny, yet concerned voice as small, rapid footsteps made their approach, stopping right in front of the large gem, who was still laying face down in the dirt, too angry and embarrassed to move. Jasper could only think about how she looked right now. laying on the ground before the tiny gem because she wasn't watching where she was going. She couldn't even bear to look up at her. She must have looked like nothing but a big clumsy clod in the eyes of the little gem at the moment.

"Are ya hurt, miss jasper? Do ya need me to take you to steven?" The little voice was raised in concern, prompting a small, barely audible grunt from the orange gem. "M'fine." Jasper replied with a moody tone, as she gathered her willpower to push herself up, wiping the dirt from her face and gem. She finally gathered enough nerve to spare a glance at the small (color) spineling, raising a brow at her sudden shift in demeanor; her previously smug face had been replaced with a look of sheepish remorse as she fiddled with her hands like she usually did when she was caught doing something bad. Seeing an advantage, jasper straightened up and glared down at her sternly. "Just... listen to me when I say slow down, am I clear?" (Spineling) murmured, pulling at her pigtail shyly whilst looking away in a pout. But after a minute she returns jasper's gaze. "Crystal, miss jasper." Jasper's lip twitched in mild revulsion at the word 'crystal' but shrugged it off, and shook her head. "Good. Now, let me take the lead." she suggested gruffly, walking ahead of the tiny gem. "You've never seen my cave, so you don't know where you're going. Last thing I need is for you to get lost. Your sire gem and steven will flay me."

"Y-yeah." she heard (spineling) sheepishly agree, hurriedly running and catching upto the gem soldier. "That... makes sense. Sorry, miss jaspy." jasper curled her lip lightly, making a grunt noise. "It's just jasper, tiny." she heard a mischievous snicker from behind her. "My mistake, just-jasper." the orange guard gives a little side glance to the small gem, watching her snicker into her hand before making a 'tch' noise, shaking her head.

And of all the gems to babysit... it had to be this one.

So childish... so irritating...

She suddenly grunted as she felt tugging on her head as (spineling) suddenly began to climb her hair, burrowing into it until she was able to sling her arms around her broad shoulders, still giggling as she rested her chin on her shoulder. A scarlet tint dusted the quartz' cheeks, as she suddenly paused in surprise, groping at the tiny arms around her neck. "What do you think you're doing, pipsqueak??" (Spineling) giggled in response. "Well, I figured you wouldn't mind carrying me all the way to your secret hideout. That way you could keep a close eye on me, and keep me safe." she giggled and nuzzled her head into the crook of her neck. Jasper raised her eyebrow, but shook her head again. "Ugh. Whatever you say, tiny bit." (Spineling) just giggled and started hum an upbeat tune to herself. Despite herself, jasper found her lip twitching at an unwanted grin of amusement making itself known.

Yet, somehow enjoyable to be around...
