4. Accepting Fate😔

The stars and moon had taken their places in the dark blue sky. The moon was throwing it's light everywhere, trying to soothe the pain of the dark night sky.

Meera was sitting on her window, reading the file of a patient. She tried hard to concentrate but couldn't, as her traitor tears were again and again making her vision blurry.

Her mind kept on going back to the day when all her dreams shattered, her whole life turned out to be a lie.

 Meera had a special bond with Bade hukum. Meera had known Bade hukum since childhood. Bade hukum has been very close to her family. But for Meera his affection was as if she was a child of his own family. Whenever he used to visit them, he used to bring gifts for Meera......and when I say Meera, I mean only Meera.

His every visit used to leave Meera happy ang joyful. But not this time.

Meera took an early leave from the hospital as today is the day when she will be telling her parents about Gautam........the love of her life.

Meera and Gautam have been in a relationship for almost three years now. Meera knows that Gautam loves her with all his heart and her parents are also very open minded so she thought of taking their relationship to the next level.

Gautam picked Meera from hospital and they both drove to her house.

As they both walked inside hand in hand, Meera was surprised to find Bade hukum and his men in their living room along with her family. Meera felt good. She thought that she was about to start her new life with Bade hukum's blessings.

But her heart broke when she was told about her wedding being fixed with his grandson.

'Mai ye shaadi nahi kar sakti!' Meera declared with tears in her eyes.

'Beta tujhe ye shaadi karni padegi.' Her father said, not making an eye contact with Meera.

'Bhai! Mumma!....... dekho naa ye Papa kya bol rahe hain...........aap log kuch bol kyu nahi rahe?' Meera desperately pleaded her elder brothers and her mother.

 Before Raghav could say something to explain his baby sister about the situation in not so straight forward way, his father stood up.

Vikram's tears ran down his face and he said while keeping a hand on his daughter's face 'Beta tu iss shaadi se manna nahi kar sakti...........Bade hukum ka bohot bada ehsaan hai hum pe!

'K-kaisa ehsaan?' She said in a low voice while looking between her father and Bade hukum. Meera was scared to see her father in such a vulnerable state.

Vikram closed his eyes and said 'Bade hukum ne humme ek paap karne se bachaya tha.'

'Kaisa paap?' she asked her father. Her heart was sinking more and more.

'Jab tu paida hui thi tab humme beti nahi chahiye thi.' Meera's mother spoke in a broken voice. Meera's couldn't believe her words. How could she? She meant the world to her parents?

'Hum tujhe.......h-hum tujhe....' her father couldn't complete his sentence.

'Aap mujhe kya?' Meera asked.

'H-Hum tujhe......'

'AAP MUJHE KYA?' Meera yelled.

'Hum tujhe jaan se maarne wale the.' her father completed and Meera's world stopped. Nothing felt right at that moment. Nothing felt good. It was like the whole happiness of world has died.
