jonah laid on his bed, his blanket wrapped around him. he wanted to escape the world. his pillow was wet from tears, a few still falling.

jonah never asked for this. he never asked to be unhappy, but he never asked to be given this life either.

there's days where he can't even get out of bed, he can't even clean his room, shower, brush his teeth even. he forgets to eat, forgets to call & check up on people because he's trying so hard not to end everything.

a knock arose from the bedroom door. the boys knew about jonahs depression. well frankly, they were the only ones who knew.

singing & writing used to help, but it seems nothing does anymore.

"jonah?"

daniel said as he opened the door to see a dark room, even though he had gotten no response from the knock he let himself it.

"yeah."

jonah replied, a sniffle coming after. daniel flipped the lamp on, only causing a little bit of light, not too much. 

"how are you today, j? you haven't left your bed. i'm just checking making sure you're okay."

daniel said in a soft, quiet voice. he was trying to comfort the older boy.

a tear fell into jonahs pillow. daniel always seemed to check up on jonah, everyday. he was always concerned. always making sure he has someone to talk too.

in jonahs mind, he doesn't deserve that.

"i'm alright."

jonah said, a quiet sob coming after, even though he tried to fight it.

without saying a word, daniel shut jonahs bedroom door, he crawled into jonahs bed with him.

he pulled the blanket off of jonah, crawled in front of him so they were facing each other, then pulled the blanket back onto both of them.

"come here."

daniel said, as he embraced jonah. he wrapped his arms around jonahs neck, pulling jonah into his chest.

jonah wrapped his arms around daniels back, tightly. it's been weeks since he's been hugged, he felt so touch deprived this was like heaven to him.

he sobbed into daniels chest, trying not to get tears all over daniels hoodie but he failed at that. daniel didn't mind at all. he just wanted to make sure the older boy was okay.

daniels always had a care for jonah. ever since he found out jonahs depression was seeming to get the best of him, he would put jonahs care in front of his.

jonah didn't know if it was the warmth of daniel being wrapped around him or if it was him finally being shown love but, he'd managed to stop crying after a few minutes.

for the first time in weeks jonah felt a little bit alright. he looked up at daniel, when daniel noticed he looked down at him. when he noticed he stopped crying he felt better inside.

"you okay, jojo?"

daniel asked, arms still wrapped around him. jonah smiled a little bit at the new nickname he'd been given. he nodded a little bit.

"i'm trying."

jonah replied. daniel gripped jonah tighter.

"that's all that matters."

daniel replied, leaning his head onto the top of jonahs, fully embracing him into his chest.

after a silence for a few moments jonah looked up at daniel once again.

"daniel?"

jonah said with a quiet voice.

"yes, jonah?"

daniel replied almost instantly.

"can you stay?"

jonah says. before daniel could say anything jonah spoke again.

"h-here. can you stay here with me? i don't want to be alone anymore."

jonah questions.

"please."

jonah says, lip quivering & eyes filling with tears once again.

daniel grips the boy even tighter.

"yes, yes of course jonah. don't ever worry. i'm always gonna be here. no matter what you need. i'll come in here & lay with you every day if you wanted."

daniel replied. jonahs nerves were eased.

daniel wiped off one of jonahs tears.

"are you hungry? i can fix you up something if you are. you haven't ate all day."

daniel asked. jonah thought about it for a second. for the first time in a few days he actually felt kinda hungry.

he nodded.

"could you, please?"
