living is a concept of surviving or sometimes accepting how cruel and unfair the world can be. It was said that you can only find out that someone is your soulmate once they are gone, and that's how Niko spent his everyday life. living alone is what other kids of his age wants, but the concept of living alone as a college student holding onto his small commissions for painting? no one would want that. he spends half of his finishing his classes and working on a cafe his friend owns and the half sitting on his tiny chair with a blank canvas in front of it. you might be asking where his parents are, for him the best answer is "gone". after his parents learning about him wanting to pursue arts, he was all by himself. you can truly say that this is how cruel the world for him and closing his eyes would not hurt right?
after a long day of school works he has no other choice but to serve and listen to people complaining about how they want their coffee done. "I know you don't want me to help you anymore but I have an offer for you" his friend Kio whispered, the owner of the cafe. he was too busy adding sugar to this old lady's drink for the third time but he's for sure listening. "go ahead" he placed the lid of the cup before serving it to the old lady, giving her the most bitter smile he can give. "someone wants you to paint a certain woman's name, no preference or something" Kio blurted out. Niko sighs, what kind of bullshit can this be again? he thought. he encountered a lot of people asking him to paint this or that just to waste his time and effort. "tss, you think I'd fall for that?" he cussed. Kio knew Niko would react like this, after all, he's been with him ever since the night he decided to play his life alone. but Kio insisted this might be a great opportunity for Niko. although he has been saying that for the past 5 years, he believes in his friend.
it was Friday, as usual, he spends half of his day painting for people. he doesn't get paid a lot on this but still, it is what he wants. he needs to fill up his stomach and bills to pay so here he is staring at a blank canvas, big enough for what the client and Kio talked about because he has no other choice but to do this. he believes that choice is only for the privileged people, but for the people like him he has to beg all the gods to give him a choice. and a choice is brushing his paintbrush smoothly trying to create the face of a young girl sol. funny how he's using all his imagination for this poor girl sol, he laughs at himself thinking that this might not be the girls face but "fuck it, whatever" he chuckles at himself. "curvy lips, small eyes, big cheek's and curly hair" he's thinking out loud again, that's how he described the girl on his painting, or should he say sol. he even wonders if this girl in front of him even exist here on earth. he's not going to lie he finds this lady as a "dream girl" which he finds more ridiculous, how can he find an imaginary person attractive? after finishing some touch-ups, he placed all his tools away and raising the canvas with both of his hand in the air with a small smile on his face, no one can see him right now neither Kio so no one would find him weird right now.
