We pulled up in front of Mel's house with the ghost of me laughing still etched on my face, even though it hadn't been funny for a couple minutes now.

When we left the school we had gone straight to a Starbucks I didn't even know was here. Somehow we both liked the same drink, a Java Chip Frappachino.

After a few turns away from the Starbucks, we arrived at Mel's house.

It was a beautiful mansion, in what I could already tell was the good part of town, about three stories high, with a perfectly pedicured lawn and fountain that stretched about 7 acres out before hitting forest.

"Are you coming?" Mel asked, throwing me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah." I said as I got out of the car.

We walked through the front door and I was instantly greeted by the homey smell of cinnamon and apple.

"Let's go up to my room." Mel suggested.

"Ok." I said as I followed her up the grand staircase.
