Nowadays, you just breeze by me,
Don't bother even to look my way.
I feel it like a slap in the face,
A crack that widens everyday.
There are infinite scars you left behind,
The marks you'll never see.
Embedded in my back, the knives you left,
The wounds you left in me.
Into my eyes you forced a cursed ocean,
Any who held it died.
I couldn't drain out the salty water,
Trust me, I really tried.
In me, you left a stark black darkness,
And a bleeding, screaming, heart.
You shattered against a wall the lantern I had,
Left me no more than broken art.
And yet I thank you for breaking me,
For leaving in me a gaping hole.
For the deep cracks and crevices,
For ensuring I never be whole.
Through these cracks, the light seeps in,
And lights up my tiny world.
You might have broken my lantern,
But forgot that the sun still burned.
A/N: How about that? When someone hurts you, thank them. It's hard to accept this, but it actually makes you stronger. You'll cry an ocean, and learn to swim (or drown, but don't you dare think that's an option!). You'll face the storm and you'll learn to fight the winds(or get blown away with it, and that isn't an option either!). If you're out there, and think you're not gonna make it, remember, I'm here, firmly believing that you will.
How did you like the poem? If you did, do go on and vote, it's not that difficult.
Until then,
Bye, dearies! xo
