Under the lights

*I'm really sorry for taking so long to update, I had lots of test and assignments, then I had a big creative block. As this chapter was written during it's probably not very good but I tried my best to make it good. And thank you so much for over 900 reads, seriously I am freaking out this is amazing*

Another week went by and we were getting closer to the auditions, I already knew I wasn't going on stage and would be behind the curtain. I was anxious to know who would be participating in the auditions, I already knew that Anastasia, Raphael and Binah would be participating and I also knew that the twins would be directors with the help of Miss Kuma. Jamie hadn't told me yet if he was going to participate or not but honestly I think he should, every time I think about him all I can think is how stressed he normally is, although lately he has been better, and I believe that with the play maybe he can calm down. Ellie was also walking a little strange, but nothing out of the ordinary.

I opened my eyes and the first thought that crossed my mind was that today was the day of the auditions. I got out of bed and woke Ellie up.

- "No, let me sleep."-she said, imitating her head inside her pillow.

-"Come on Ellie, you need to get up. I'm gonna take a shower when I get back it's better you be up."

- "I feel like I'm being threatened by a cupcake."- she said in a muffled voice.

I let out a small laugh and made my way to the bathroom and took a quick shower and put on my uniform. When I come out of the bathroom I come across a sleepy and disheveled Ellie sitting at her desk doing her eyeliner, I wait for her to finish and then we leave for breakfast. As we arrive at the cafeteria with our breakfast we sit down with the group.

-"Good morning, what are you talking about?"- I said with a smile on my face while Ellie simply shook her head in agreement.

-"We were talking about the auditions and what song we were going to sing,"- Raphael clarified.

-"And you've already chosen?"- he looked slightly away from me to Jamie.

-"Yes, Anastasia will sing Summertime Sadness by Lana Del Rey, Binah will sing East of Eden by Zella Day and I will sing Killer Queen by Queen,"- he said pointing at the people repeatedly.

He didn't say anything about Jamie, is he really not going to participate, can't be I have to at least convince him to audition.

We finished breakfast and split up with me, Jamie, Raphael and Binah, we were going to have class together so we went together although Jamie and I were a little further back. He held my hand and my head was lightly resting on his shoulder, the fact that Raphael didn't say anything about him and the audition made me a little uncomfortable, I looked at him and I couldn't get the question out of my head, I had to ask him.

- "Jamie"-I said in a low voice so no one else could hear us and he looked at me and nodded his head in a sign for me to keep talking-"I've been thinking Raphael didn't say anything about the song you were going to sing, so if you haven't picked a song yet I-"

- "Lottie"-he stopped me and took a deep breath-"I'm not going to audition"-he said in the same tone as me but sure of what he said.

- "Come on Jamie, at least just one audition, then if you don't want to be in the play you don't have to"-I look him in the eye-"Please, if you don't do it for yourself do it for me."

I knew I had played dirty when I said that but I knew Jamie deserved a little more rest and de-stress to get that weight off his conscience. I opened my eyes a little wider to make a puppy dog face, he averted his face taking another deep breath and said.

- "Okay but don't ever make that face again."

I smiled and leaned in to kiss him on the cheek but he turned his face at the last second stealing a quick kiss from me, I started to blush as I looked away looking at the ground as we continued walking and Jamie had a satisfied smile on his face.

My last class of the day was alone, and when it was over I headed to the amphitheater which would be where the auditions would take place. When I arrived there was still an hour to go, but I saw Miss Kuma and the twins getting ready for the auditions, so I went over to them.

-"Lottie, glad you could join us, you're coming to see the auditions I presume?"- said Miss Kuma while sketching an excited smile.

-"Yes, I'd like to see my friends at the auditions,"- I replied, returning the smile and approaching Lola and Micky.

-"Okay, I hope you have fun,"- she said, then left to go talk to other students who were helping to prepare for the auditions.

The twins and I continued to talk about the auditions, while more people showed up followed by more people and our group was getting together. We were talking animatedly among ourselves until we were interrupted by the sound of the microphone which caused everyone to turn their attention to the stage.

-"Good afternoon everyone, I hope you are all having a pleasant afternoon and are having fun, because that is what is expected with this play, so without further ado let the auditions begin", said Miss Kuma sketching the same smile she had earlier.
