Present date: May 23, 2019 - 2 days before the murder
"Hyung hyung hyung hyuuuuunggg!!" Taeseok burst in the laboratory tackling Minsung. "Taeseok! What did I tell you about interfering with Minsungie's work?!" Minsung chuckled, brushing any dust off the white coat he was wearing. "Hyung, Hyunjinnie hyung wants the autopsy report for the victim. Also what happened to her? Why does her body look burnt? Did she get stuck in a fire? I feel so bad!" Taeseok then started blabbing on about how he felt bad for the victim who has not been burnt, but drowned. It was a small murder case, The killer must have just kidnapped her and drowned her, not the very big kind of murder. Yet he too felt sorry for all the victims, it was hard having this job. Even if he was cocky and all that shit, he still cares about others.
"Here you go. Please shut your mouth." Minsung handed the smaller an envelope containing the autopsy report for the poor victim. "Tell Hyunjin to work well and keep safe for me, will you?" "Of course!"

"Someone's at the door! I'll go get it, it might be Minsung!" Minjung (Non canon name for Minsoo's mom) stood up and hurriedly ran to the door, excited to meet her son, instead found a quite large person presumably a man. "Uhm, what do you want?" She scoffed, it wasn't Minsung but some beggar. "Excuse me, do you want somet-"
and Minjung fell to the ground bleeding.

"What's the emergency this time?" Minsoo said, running to the laboratory, it was super late at night. "You won't believe it." Youngjoon sped up faster then stopped. "Minsoo, your mom and one of her friends was murdered."
Minsoo froze then started running and burst inside "HYUNG!" He saw Minsung standing next to their mom's body in utter shock and dismay, Minsoo stood next to him. "Both were stabbed in the liver and bled to death, it seems like their bodies were discovered about an hour after they were stabbed." Minsung pointed to a hole on Minjung's chest and her friend's chest. "And that's not all...someone killed Jaewon."
The murderer left no traces, no fingerprints and such, the cameras didn't catch anyone either as well, they were gone.
Minsoo wasn't sure if he really wanted to find his mother's killer. He hated his mother and loved her at the same time, just like how he hated his brother. Now the memories were flooding back in, he felt unsteady. Wasn't this all he wanted? What was he even looking for? Praise from his already dead mother? Ah fuck it, Jaewon is dead as well, might as well make himself useful.
"Youngjoon, Let's go."

"Can you believe it? Prosecutor Kang's been really distracted!" "I know! Do you think it was because of that red haired kid?" "I mean, Wyld was a singer! The news was big and Prosecutor Kang must be stressed!" The gossip in the building was endless. "Alright stop it stop it, as far as I remember, we have to respect each other's privacy." "Ah- Yes Mr. Jung!"
"Taeseok, remember that strictly no rumors or paparazzi about Jaewon." Hyunjin sighed and cleaned his glasses "Oh Wonnie...What kind of mischievous person would kill you.." Hyunjin scanned the documents although there was nothing he could really do about Jaewon's case. He did want to keep an eye on the investigation while he worked though and since he can't leave the office, someone else will.
"Taeseok? Go to Youngjoon and accompany them, come back by 2. Oh! And bring snacks for all of you, and maybe if you can..say Hi to Minsungie for me...ah nevermind, I'll do that myself."
"Now where was I..."
Documents documents and more documents. Sometimes Hyunjin wondered why he wanted to be a lawyer. His workspace was just filled with all kinds of paper, it was organized of course but he never considered it 'clean' as just looking at it gives you a headache.
On a board contained special clients, he didn't really understand why they were that important, Taeseok just set it there.

All Hyunjin ever really cared about was what time was he going home and how Minsung was doing. Ah, that reminded him he was going to see Minsung once he was done with some stuff and ask him out for dinner. Was it a date? probably.
