Clay and George made their way to the cafeteria slowly, enjoying each other's company filled with joy and laughs.
They had just sat at a table accompanied by each other when their friend, nick, came rampaging over.
"GEORGE!!"
George was tackled out of his seat, laughing the whole time. Nick helped the brit stand up, clapping him on the back.
"Happy birthday Gogy"

"Thanks, Sappynappy"

Nick opened his mouth to speak but noticed the other boy accompanying George. Nick gave Clay a confused stare, then leaned into George's ear and whispered
"Who's the blondie?"
Clay's mouth went from straight to curled, gracefully holding out his hand out to Nick.
"The names Clay, a pleasure to finally meet you"
Nick looked at him in shock, his mouth practically dropping to the floor.
"D-Dream?.."
Clay once again burst out laughing giving out his signature kettle wheeze before clutching his stomach in pain.
George let out a small snort while sitting in his chair. Nick glared at both of them with a smile, slowly sliding into his seat.
"The fuck... what the hell are you doing here?"
"To see my lovely George of course"
The brunette went red, pretending to drop his bag. he ducked under the table, giving himself time to calm down.
The others took no suspicion nor any notice of this, they just casually talked about some stupid debate they normally have.
"I'm just saying, pineapple on pizza... is a sin"
Nick let at a gasp, covering his mouth.
"What?! I'm sorry but I cant do this anymore. We are over"
Clay put a hand to his heart.
"Well at least now I don't have to cheat on you with George, we can now be together Gogy."
The boys laughed together, watching as the shorties face went bright pink, all George could say was "oh shut up"

The conversation continued, the boys bursting out in laughter all over the place. The big three, the dream team, talking about everything and nothing. It wasn't long before the bell had rung, and the three went their separate ways.
George had a free period, so he made his way to the bathroom.

He pushed open the door, walking to the sink. He had just turned the tap on when someone else entered the room, and George was thrown down by the scruff of his neck.
"ack!"
George yelped, pushing himself up only to be kicked back down. The mysterious figure cackled with unnerving monotone laughter, grabbing George's chin.
"well well, aren't we a bit lazy today"
The individual flung George back on the floor then proceeding to kick him in the ribs.
"pathetic"
The figure spat as they walked out of the bathroom and out of sight, leaving George to cry silently, hugging his knees to his chest.
Eventually, he pulled himself up, using the wall as support. He washed his face, slowly exiting the room and making his way to the library, where he slumped into a chair, falling asleep on the desk almost immediately from being exhausted.

The end of the day came quicker than expected. Nick, Clay, and Darryl all wishing George a happy birthday, before they all went their separate ways home.
George walked to his sister's school, lost in thought. His sister spotted him, quickly running over
"gweorgie!"
The brit merely waved meekly, his smile not reaching his eyes.
His sister grabbed his hand, chatting away about how she broke a crayon, and how her teacher gave them so much homework. Even if it was only a page of writings though it must be nice, living in childish ignorance.

The moment they walked up to their driveway, even children would have to face the adult world.
Screaming could be heard, the sound of two adults constantly yelling at each other till their throats were hoarse. Lily slowly backed up behind Georges's back, giving her the thought she was safe with George but making his heartbreak.
" Gweorge.."
"Shh. its okay Lils, you're safe with me"
George patted her head, before marching up the stairs and opening the door with a slam.
"WE'RE HOME!"
He shouted extending the 'e' at home. At that moment the yelling stopped in an instant. If a pin were to drop now, you would be able to hear it. The quietness was like a ghost town. Suddenly there was a clatter, and George's mother came rushing down the stairs in a hurry, carrying suitcases.
She walked straight past George, then grabbing a hold of Lily's hand then letting it go due to noises upstairs.
Seconds later, George's father came leaping down the stairs, his face tear-streaked.
"Just stop! we can do counseling or-"
"NO! I'm leaving and that's final!"
Lily cried as their mum roughly grabbed at her wrist and dragged the poor child outside with her so she could start slamming the already overflowing boot filled with boxes. George's father followed them out to the car and reached for Lily's other arm, a game of painful tug-of-war coming from it.

The oldest sibling ran up, pulling Lily away from both their parents.
"What the hell! you're hurting her!"
"Shut up boy, this doesn't involve you!"
George flinched, pushing Lily behind his back. George's mother tried to soothe him down, saying recurring little white lies. Lily sobbed, her little arms wrapped around George's waist.
"Stop sobbing twat!"
To this extent George then snapped, no one could talk to his sister like that.
"Don't speak to her like that."

"What did you say, boy?"

George sucked in a breathe, the menacing glare in the man's eyes scaring the life out of him.
George carefully pushed Lily towards their mother, not taking his eyes off his father.
" I said, Don't. Speak to her. Like. That."

With a growl his father lunged at him, the brit barely pushing Lily out of the way before he was pushed to the ground, hands-on his throat.
Both Lily's and his Mother's screams filled George's ears, but all he did was lay there, being choked. His father finally let him go, jumping off him. He stalked back up to the house, slamming the door behind him.
George's mother ran over, helping the brit into a sitting position. George pushed her away gently, smiling.
"Just get Lily out of here, i'll be ok." Even though George knew he wasn't going to be considering the turn of events that just happened before.
George's Mother kissed his forehead, before guiding Lily to put her in the car. She squealed and jumped away, running to George.
"G-Gweorgie"
Lily sobbed into his chest, her little hands wrapped around his neck. The brunette flinched, but hugged her back. He slowly picked her up, sitting her in the car seat and buckling her in. The wet patches of tears are covered in George's shirt but he didn't mind.
"I'll see you soon okay?"
She nodded, her tired little eyes falling shut.
With one last hug, George's mother and sister drove away, leaving George to enter the house alone. Best birthday ever.

Sometimes death is better than other things..
