Daniels POV

Vanessa made all the guys hot coco as Zach tried to talk to her about how pretty she was. I gave him a look with my eyes causing him to quickly walk away from her.

"Your friends are fun." Vanessa says playfully as she laughs as she watches them try and kill each other on her couch.

"Yeah they are great." I say softly as we both look at them.

"I can put on a movie for them to watch and then we can sneak out and play in the snow again." She says playfully as she nudges my arm.

"It sounds like we are their parents." I say sarcastically as she grabs my hand.

She presses play on the polar express and all the guys stare at the tv like little children causing Vanessa to laugh. We both quickly put on our snow gear.

"Will you zip me up?" Vanessa whispers as she gestures to her jacket.

I walk closer to her and place my hands on the zipper as I slowly zip her up. I felt my heart beating quickly causing me to take a step away from her.

"There you go." I say nervously as I place my hat on my head.

She was struggling with her glove so I gently helped her put it on her hand. We both walk out the door and I take one last look at the boys and see them all winking and giving me thumbs up causing me to shake my head at them. The second we stepped out the door Vanessa nearly slipped on the stairs. I quickly grabbed her waist and caught her before she fell.

"Watch out for the stairs.... they are slippery." I say sarcastically as I release my hands from her waist.

I grab her hand and make sure she doesn't fall as we step into her small front yard. She lets go of my hand and kneels in the snow as she starts picking up the snow and forming a ball.

"What are you doing?" I ask her playfully as I walk over to her.

Before I have time to react she hits me with a snow ball. My competitive side takes over as I grab the snow and start throwing it at her. She laughs as she gets pummeled with snow balls. She quickly grabs more snow and starts throwing it at me as she stood up and started running away from me. I covered my face as I chased after her. I slipped in the snow causing me to fall down causing her to laugh loudly as I felt her hit my back with snow. I quickly got up with a smile on my face as I started running after her. She squealed as she tried to run away from me but I was way faster than her. I grab her by her waist and pick her up but started loose my balance causing us both to fall down into the snow. We both laugh as she lays directly on top of me.

"I got you." I say playfully as her face is inches away from mine.

"You are very good at throwing snow balls at people." She replies playfully.

"Thank you... I think." I say as a laugh leaves my mouth.

A beautiful smile forms on her face causing me to smile even bigger. I notice her take a deep breath as she realizes how close she is to me.

"Let's make a snow man." She says in an excited tone as she gets off of me.

I sigh as I wish I had just kissed her in that moment. I need to snap out of it. If I fall for her anymore I will just get hurt in the process.

"Come on Dani boy... I can't make it by myself!" She yells playfully as she starts rolling the snow.

I quickly walk over to her and start helping her make the snow ball bigger and bigger. Our hands touch a million times sending sparks through my arms. I help her place a smaller snow ball on top of the original one she made. We place an even smaller one on top causing Vanessa to give me a side hug because she was very excited. I wished I could hold her forever in my arms.

"I'll grab a carrot and some blueberries for it's face." She says as she sprints inside the house.

She comes back very quickly and I help her place them on the snowman. She also brought a hat and gloves that we put on the snowman.

"That's a pretty good looking snowman if I do say so myself." I say playfully as we both take a step back and stare at it.

"He's missing arms." Vanessa mumbles as she looks around.

She grabs some twigs and places them on it.

"Perfect." She says dramatically as we both look at it.

"I haven't made a snowman since I was a kid." I say softly as we both sit down next to the snowman.

"Really?" She asks me softly.

"Yeah.... with touring and everything I'm never really home with my family for the holidays." I tell her as I feel a little tug in my heart.

"That's terrible I'm sorry.... but just remember to savor the time you do have with them like this year." She tells me softly.

I nod my head as I look over at her. I wondered how someone could be so pretty.

"I miss being a kid and the magic of Santa and Christmas." I mumble as I run my hand through the snow.

"Christmas is magical no matter what age you are." Vanessa replies playfully.

"Yeah you are right but it's different when you are a kid." I mumble as I feel her eyes on me.

"Things were easier and simpler as a kid." She replies softly.

Our eyes meet and I feel the urge to kiss her as my eyes flicker down to her lips.

"I hate everyone!" Caroline screamed as she started angrily walking towards us.

"Hey are you okay?" Vanessa asked her frantically.

"I hate men!" She screamed as she punched our snowman angrily and then walked into the small apartment.

Vanessa looked over at me as we both tried to hold back laughter but soon gave in as we started dying of laughter.

"Oh my gosh..." Vanessa says out of breath.

"I wonder what she's going to do when she realizes her couch is full of men." I say playfully.

We hear her scream causing us to laugh even harder.

"She killed our son." Vanessa says in a sad tone as she gestures to the snowman.

"It was his time to go." I say as I pat the snow.

"I wonder what she's mad about?" I ask Vanessa curiously.

"I bet it has something to do with him." Vanessa says softly as she points at Jake walking towards us.

He quickly passed by us and walked into the house.

"I think she actually likes him... I've never seen Caroline so mad...." Vanessa mumbles in disbelief as she stares at the door.

We both laugh as our eyes meet again before we both quickly look away. Caroline always seemed to show up at the right time to stop us from kissing and maybe it was the world telling me to stop before I get hurt all over again.
