Ishdräch and his family lived in early Jericho in a typical poor man's mud house. The Muslim family originally from Constantinople (now Istanbul), lived in Israel for almost 16 years. Ishdräch was taken to Israel a few days after he was born because of the Greco- Turkish War. As he began to grow, he learnt Arabic which is widely spoken in the Middle East.
Ishdrächand his family were taken to Jerusalem but they left because of the profoundChristian influence. Ish's family was very poor because of the trip to Israel so they were very desperate to gainsome extra gelt they could use to take care of their child.When rich fanatic Islamic Spanish slave traders came, they forced the hopelessfamily and other individuals to work for them, however, with a compensation of atleast 5000 Turkish Lira, whilst having the opportunity to become Spanish citizens.
