Their first journey was a hajj to Mecca, Saudi Arabia and later taken to a mosque in Medina, Saudi Arabia to pray. They were paid 100 Rials for carrying 100 pounds of cooked mutton and goat meat for consumption. On a jaunt to Yemen, Ishdräch's parents sadly plunged into the Indian Ocean and were noshed by a dyad of (out of all the odds) great white sharks. Fortunately for Ishdräch, their money was left in the ship berth, away from impairment.
After the forlorn journey to Yemen, Ish was paid 400 Euros to apparently show condolence to the hapless demise of his progenitors. Ish was still paid only 20 Riyals because of the penury Yemen is facing. Ishdräch was very dejected after the death of his parents but still worked assiduously to earn money. Ish was finally taken to Iran before going to Turkey (to take a short time to eat and later continue the longer odyssey to Spain) to get the remaining amount of money. He was to carry carpets and oil for them and fortunately for him, he earned 600 Iranian Rials by selling them. The terminal stop in Turkey was at Anatolia, Turkey in a city called Catal Hüyük, one of the oldest cities in the world dating from earlier than 6000 B.C.
Ish was paid 1500 Turkish Lira forcarrying in total, 200 pounds of wheat, cotton, tobacco, sugar beet, fruits andtea leaves. After all the heavy lifting, Ish was pummeled, sapped and plannedto run away. So he told the ship captain that he felt an urge to pray in Hagia Sophia(a newly made mosque in Istanbul) thus, he was guided by the ship captain's assistant, Avęiro de Sul.
