Stumbling out of the abandoned farmhouse, we were welcomed by the smell of fresh air. Right after Damon and I had left Ann's undignified body lying back in the farmhouse, I didn't care whether Ann had a proper burial after what she had done do the both of us. She deserved to be dead.

The first thing we noticed was the dark night sky. It was strange how time had gone so quickly from the time I had bought the dress to the time I had killed Ann.

It was such a relief to be out of that dusty old farmhouse with cobwebs lining the walls.

Damon and I looked around our surroundings and there before our eyes stood a huge expanse of forest greenery with our car parked beneath the shade of trees. Sighing with relief, we made a beeline towards our car.

Yanking the car doors open, we searched the car for missing items. Thankfully, everything sat untouched and the key was left in the ignition. Our phones which we had left in the glove compartment were out of battery. Not like I had expected it to last. Thankfully my Homecoming dress was good as new even after I had thrown it in the backseat in my haste to help Damon.

With everything safe in the car, Damon started the ignition and we drove back towards Mystic Falls.

"I never knew you had that in you.. to save me. Thank you." He said turning in my direction with a small smile on his face.

Smiling back I said, "I will always protect you Damon. I promise."

"So will I." Damon said with fiery love and compassion in his eyes. Leaning forward, we kissed and taking my hand, Damon squeezed it. A promise indeed. I squeezed back and held on to the fact that the danger had passed.

Arriving back at the Salvatore Boarding House, we headed up the stairs, and found Stefan drinking bourbon by the fireplace.

Joining him, he looked up surprised and saw our worn faces.

"What happened to you both?" He asked pouring each of us a glass.

"We went shopping for a Homecoming dress." I stated. "Though, Damon and I barely made it out alive. We were kidnapped by Ann." I said

Stefan's eyes narrowed and he stiffened."How did that happen?"

"She shot and vervained us." I said darkly.

"What?" Stefan was mad.

"Don't worry, I killed her before she could kill Damon or me." I said with a shrug and put my arm on Stefan's shoulder. He relaxed visibly and said, "Well, If she were still alive, I would kill her. But I'm happy you kicked some ass Beth." Stefan said with a smile curving on his face.

"Well thank you Saint Stefan." I said playfully hitting him on the shoulder.

He hit me back and soon we were laughing.

I then explained how I killed her and we started a mock fight. Even Damon was involved and the brothers were soon jostling each other on the floor.

Eventually, we all settled down and the laughter ceased into the subject of Homecoming.

"So, you ready for homecoming?" Stefan asked

"Absolutely!" I exclaimed "I won't miss a thing for it! Besides, I've got my dress! So, who's your date?" I asked.

"Elena." Stefan said sighing happily before downing his drink and headed for his room.

"I knew it! I owe Damon 10 bucks now! Well, I have to admit, I'm happy for you Stef!" I said happily.

Looking back, he grinned.

Even though I had drunk a few cups of Bourbon, I was still thirsty. But for something else. Blood. I was suddenly craving it. Knowing that, I motioned for Damon to follow me and we headed down to the cellar where the blood bags were kept.
