Laceration ~ Harries

My board slips out from under me as a massive wave knocks me off my board. In the struggle to get a hold on my board, the fin shoots back and slices my leg open.

Shit.

I lay my upper body over my board to keep me up and put pressure on the wound with one hand while waving for help.

Another surfer comes and helps hold me up until someone gets here.

A lifeguard comes paddling out, and helps me onto their board.

"I'm Harries. What happened?" He asks.

"I was knocked of my board and the fin sliced my leg open..." I groan, keeping the pressure on it.

"Ok. Let's get you to the tower, yeah?" He says, having me lie down on my stomach.

He gets me to shore and helps me to the rhino. He helps me into the back, getting gauze out and placing it over the wound putting pressure on it for me.

"Harrison, we need to get to the tower. She's got quite the laceration on her leg," Harries says, before grabbing his radio. "Rhino to central, we need an ambo please. We've got quite the laceration."

I just groan as I get really dizzy.

"Honey? You alright?" He asks.

I shake my head.

"I think I'm gonna pass out..."

"You need to stay awake, ok?" He says, placing his free hand on my shoulder.

We get to the tower, and Harries and Harrison help me into the tower and onto the medical bed.

"Harrison, can you get more gauze? We need to wrap this," Harriers says.

"On it."

Harries lifts the gauze already on the wound to look at it, making me groan in pain.

"Sorry," he says, replacing the gauze with new gauze and wrapping it.

My vision starts to fade and the last thing I see before I pass out is Harries' leaning over me, trying to get me to stay awake.

I come to as I'm being wheeled to an ambulance. Before they put me in, I mutter a quiet "thank you" to Harries who is following close behind.
