Do I love her? I don't even know I like her. We barely know each other but the thought of ruining Elina scares me. The thought of liking her scares me even more. I've seen how Adrian was after mom broke them apart. My brother and I weren't really close but we have the same passion, hating mother but we can't do anything about it. What she say goes. She has everyone wrap in her finger and she can make your life a living hell.

A few hours after mom left Elina arrived with my homework. She told me about what happened at school, how Nica was worried for me and Heather still being a bitch.

"Then when I entered Fred's classroom Heather was shouting at him." Fred apparently is Mr. Coleman. Heather shouting at him probably means she got a low grade and bribing him or something.

Elina noticed my silence. "You okay?" she tuck a strand of my hair behind my ear. I felt warm inside though I didn't know what it was but one thing I know is that I want to protect her.

"I promise I'll protect you," I mumbled. Though it was weird and so not me to be saying that but she makes me bring down my walls and she doesn't need to know that.

"What was that?" she questioned.

I shake my head and smile. She didn't push so she explained to me my homeworks and the deadline and being all teachery-like.

"Hey Yana, you okay?" Nica waved her hand in front of me, breaking my trance.

"Hmm, what?" I question, this time focusing on Nica. She sat beside me, straddling her chair.

"I said Mason is throwing a party tonight. We should go." It's been a while since I attended parties. Going to one won't hurt. I nod as Elina entered the classroom. She eyed me and a smile formed on her face. I wanted to do the same but I feel weird in my stomach so I looked away.

The bell rang for the start of class and Nica made her way back to her desk. I could feel Elina eyeing but I avoided her. She started on her lesson plan and gave us seatwork to do. My elbow rested on my desk and rested my cheek on my palm as I wrote answers on the tablet. A message from Elina appeared on the tablet and opened it.

You okay?

I didn't want her to ask anymore questions so I gave her a nervous smile. She looked worried. It's been a week since mom surprised me with her visit and I was distant to Elina. And I was thankful I didn't have any reocurring dreams so cheers to that.

"Please send me your seatwork" Elina announced from her desk, clicking on something in her computer.

The class quickly sent their works without a problem since most of the class were smart, that includes me. I finished in no time.

"Miss Hearst, please stay behind." I could hear the students whispering. Is this the moment when I am no longer in the top one? Nah, I knew that I did good, it could only mean one thing. Why I was distancing. I gulp as the students filtered out the room.

Elina looked up from her desk and made her way towards me. Finally taking notice of my behavior, I stopped my foot from tapping on the floor. Yes, I was nervous and I am not doing good at hiding that.

"Sooo...I know I'm not here for my grades. What's up?" I say looking at her forehead, trying not to sound nervous... at all, my fingers tapping on the desk.

She raise her brows, "what's up? You have been ignoring me for the past week. Are you okay? What happened?" she placed her hand on the back of my hand, looking worried.

"Uh, yeah.." think. Think what to say damn it. "Just busy... with stuff."

She eyed me and the weird feeling in my stomach was getting out of control. I stood from my seat, "gotta go, bye Miss D." Quickly exiting the room I let out a breath that I didn't know that I was holding.

"You okay? You look flustered," Nica checked my temperature and I wave her off. "Let's go to English."

**

My afternoon class was occupied with Heather bickering with Fred, a.k.a Mr. Coleman. Nica would snicker and make comments once in a while, giving her a look from Heather. Poor Freddy.

Mason's party was just an hour away from school, that's probably why he arrives just on time or barely make it in time.

"Glad you could make it," Mason gave us his signature killer smile. Nica would fall for it anytime of the day and I would gag. We made our way through the crowds. People grinding on each other, jumping and pushing people in the pool, beer pong, a few freshman throwing up in the well trimmed bush, Heather quarelling with the boys not to push her in the pool while on the phone and us ordering our drink from the bar courtesy of Mason's.

"Mason is so cute," Nica commented, sipping from her drink. "Yeah, and so is Joshua," she roll her eyes at me. "Don't be a kill joy."

I shrug, sipping now a beer. "You know how I am with loyalty and shit," I comment.

"Yeah right," she stare at me, knowing full well what she was talking about. I didn't explain further, not liking the thought of talking about Nicole. For one, I thought she wasn't my girlfriend. She kinda just announced to everybody that I was her girlfriend and it was a mistake on my part not telling her. Well hey, sex with her was mediocore. Who cums in four minutes? That was one reason I didn't reply to her messages after she left. That woman was like a glue when she was here.

"Well, I didn't really like Nicole," she added. I smile as we had our fourth beer. Nicole was a bitch to Veronica. I'd laugh while telling Veronica what Nicole thought of her.

"So, you and Miss Davis, huh?" Veronica wiggled hey eyebrows teasingly. I slap her arm. "No pfft," I roll my eyes.

"You're totally crushing. Oh my gosh."

"What? No," I deny.

"You always 'pfft' when you're nervous bitch," laughing as she air quote, I hit her arm again.

"You know I'm right, and I am always right my dear friend," she added before dancing with the crowd. I roll my eyes and roam Mason's humble home.

Every room I opened were 'occupied' and I'd roll my eyes. Making my way towards the pool, I heard sobbing.

"Heather?"

She looked up to see who it was and she frowned. "Fucking go away," she say between sobs. I'm not one to be a bitch if you don't test my patience. I'm actually nice, I think. Well Veronica saif to be nice, so let me test the waters.

I sit beside her, "what's wrong?" Comforting is really not my thing but Heather was crying. It is very very shocking. "I know I'm not the last person you want to share your problem with but I can listen," I added before leaving her. Everybody needs someone to lend an ear and I gave her just that.

Veronica was drunk, very drunk and I had to take her home before she regretted doing it with somebody. Her parents were gone as usual and I take my leave. I decided to stop by at Elina's just because. I wasn't trying to be a stalker or anything but a knock on my window surprised me.

Rolling my window, Elina bent so I could see her. "What are you doing here?" she asked.

"How'd you know it's me?" I question, tapping on the steering wheel, nervously.

"Do you see anyone else with a Lambo?" she pointed out. "Well, wanna come in?"

I hesitate, knowing the state of my now rapid beating heart, I nod.

Be cool.
