Robyn's P.O.V:
School the next day passed by faster than I thought. Last night we safely disposed Julia at the local hospital to get her nose fixed. Margie in return, was spluttering apologies with a mix of curses. What I'm still confused about was who she wanted to sue; Julia for kissing her, or me for leaving her stranded.
Yeah.. she was a little drunk. She even showed up to school the next day with sunglasses on.
So dramatic.
On the plus side I got to find out that I will forever be alone. Yep, that's right. He hasn't called nor texted. I feel like a total loser.
I really thought I was doing something. I mean at the MOMENT I thought I was the shit. But now... I will resort to hating him.
Coming home from school was relieving, parking my 2013 olive Wrangler into my drive way, I noticed the other two black cars that were parked in front of my house. Mom and dad were home.
They both worked as accountants, and also do side deals when they are home. Their love could be mistaken for a fairy-tale. They met in college, studied the same major then mom gave birth to Satan's spawn. Fast forward five months they got married and my mom announced that she was 4 weeks pregnant with an Angel's baby. Cue my grin. And they lived happily ever after.
My mom is the strict one, but she is a big believer in letting me be independent. My dad, the more lenient one, but very protective. Ah, the perfect couple of the century.
And yes, I'm a daddy's girl.
Grabbing mail from the mailbox and trudging up the drive, I opened the door and kicked it lock behind me. There they were, drinking their afternoon coffee in the dining room while mom cleaned up around the house in her sleepwear.
This day was a rare day, they would usually come home from work around 6 or 7 at night then leave in the morning at 8.
"Hey honey, how was school?" Came the melodious voice of my dark haired mother. She discarded the broom stick and glided over to the pile of mail that I placed on the dining table. I reached over and placed a kiss on her cheek and did the same to my dad in greeting who was writing numbers down on a notepad.
"It was okay. Margie kept sleeping in class and I didn't have anyone else to talk to." I dropped my bookbag and grabbed a Caprisun from the fridge.
"That's what she gets for being an underage drinker. I'm glad I raised your better."
Cue my eye roll. "Yeah" I was about to make my way up to my bedroom before she spoke again.
"Oh you have mail" she inspected the yellow envelope then turned it over. Grabbing a pen from my father's bunch.
I have mail? Ouuu, fancy.
Before she could open it herself I jumped up and grabbed the pen she had- of which I quickly released, thinking of the consequences.
"Why are you opening it?"
"Because it came to my house, I have to make sure it isn't a bomb."
I- that doesn't even make any sense.
"But-" I spare my dad's bald head a glance. And like magic he spoke.
"Marilyn let the girl feel special" the gruffly and deep voice came from my father, not even looking up from his notepad. We both let out a sigh, me of relief and her from agitation.
And with that she lets go of the envelope and in the next two seconds I become the flash but not before she exclaims "Ok AnDreW" In a mocking tone. I run up the stairs into my bedroom that was at the end of the hallway.
