You loved the rain, you always have. The sounds it made, pitter-pattering against the roofs were a sweet, familiar tune. The prickling cold ghosted along your covered skin, making your hairs stand on end as you felt your cheeks began to sting from the frigid numbness that came with the weather.

Small pellets of water dripped from the roof's holes, falling a few inches away from your lap. You could hear a remainder of them scattering around when they kissed the shrine's wooden floors, decorating your skirt a darker color.

With a thin-lipped frown, you step away from your previous position, but in doing so you moved even closer to him, catching his attention.

When you glanced up at him, his red eyes glared at you, as if glowing by themselves like a thousand rubies in the dark. You bowed slightly, a form of apology and permission, and when he finally turned away without a word, you advanced closer to his side.
