"Wake up, sleepyhead."

Feeling him push my shoulder lightly, I rolled over to see Eijirou laughing at me.

"Nice hair," he remarked, giving me a thumbs-up.

"Oh, shut up." I pointed at his own. "You've got more gel in yours right now than a man should use in his lifetime."

He put a hand over his chest in mock hurt. "You're so mean to me, Y/N."

"Yeah, yeah. Get out of my room so I can change now."

"Alright. Want some pancakes?"

"Sure," I agreed, watching as he left, closing the door behind him.

By the time I made it to the kitchen, Eiji had already finished the pancakes.

"Dad left?" I asked, looking around as if he'd magically appear. Eiji nodded, handing me a plate. I guess we really were comfortable in each other's houses. His parents loved me, but I got the feeling they wanted us to start dating.

Dad respected Kiri, I think. Maybe they had this mutual need to protect me. They did share similar ideals, anyways.

"No tie?" He nodded down at my uniform.

"Ugh, I couldn't figure out how to tie it. Dad got it for me yesterday." I held the tie up, glaring at it.

"Here, let me." He took the tie from my hand and positioned it around my neck. I watched his face as he worked with the same focused expression he always had in training. I wonder what it would be like to kiss him...

It took me a second before I realized the thought that had just crossed my mind.

Oh, fuck.

No, it was just a thought. I don't actually want to kiss him. I mean, come on, sometimes you just wonder random things about that.

"You okay? Your face is really red." He looked up at me worriedly, tightening the knot he'd done.

"I'm fine." I waved my hand. Was the knot too tight or was I just embarrassed?

"Alright, go ahead and eat. I'll grab your stuff."

I smiled appreciatively and fixed my collar. Time to pretend that had never happened.

By lunchtime, we'd managed to drag both Sero and Bakugou to our table. Somehow, and to all our surprise, Eijirou had managed to convince Bakugou.

"Why the hell am I here?" He growled, slamming his lunch tray down on the table.

"Because we have a bet." I grinned at his confused expression. "Eijirou and I think you'll be friends with us. They-" I pointed to Mina, Denki, and Jirou- "say you're too much of a hardass."

Although it was true, and I had $20 on the line, it was funny to watch the way his face twisted into a frown.

"You and shitty hair really think that?" He spat, although his voice was calmer than usual.

"Sure thing, Bakubro." Eiji clapped a hand on his shoulder, and the blond flinched, furious again. He didn't seem to like his new nickname, despite the one he'd already given to Eijirou.

During that one lunch, we managed to make Bakugou smile just a little, which I considered a huge compliment. Sero fit right in with us, and as I watched that small smile form on Bakugou's face, I thought of what Mina had said the day before.

Yeah. We're all gonna be great friends.

"EIJI, HURRY THE FUCK UP OR WE'LL BE LATE," I yelled up the stairs. He was probably re-gelling his hair or something, which I can only imagine would take forever.

I turned back around and saw both of his parents standing in the doorway, and I felt redness sink into my face. Thankfully, whether or not they heard me, both ran up and took me into a hug.

"Y/N! It's been forever, how's school? Has Eijirou been behaving himself? Is he dating anybody yet? Every time we ask, he just gets all red and--"

"Mom!"

Hearing him groan, I turned around and grinned at Kiri. "Aw, does somebody have a crush?"

He shot me a glare. "It's not like that." Looking back up at his parents, he continued: "We're off to Mina's place. Is that okay?"

"Just be back before midnight!" His dad patted his shoulder and smiled over at me. Eiji did look a striking amount like his father-- besides the hair, of course.

Once we'd left, the two of us started walking towards her house.

"I'm still surprised Bakugou even agreed to come," I remarked, sighing happily.

"I had a feeling he would."

I smirked. "Aw, do you like Katsuki?"

He glared at me once more. "Oh, please-- you're the one who has a crush on Bakubro."

I gasped. "Wh- no, I- why the hell would you say that?"

"The first day we met him, you literally said he was hot. Plus, you talk about him all the time." He kind of mumbled the last part, and I felt a pang in my stomach. Had I not been giving Kiri enough attention? I knew he could get insecure about that stuff, but he also hated being lied to.

"Okay, fine, maybe I like him a little," I muttered, kicking a rock in my path. I watched it skid across the pavement, and a part of me felt bad for moving it.

Kiri punched my arm. "Look at you. Y/N and Bakubro, sitting in a tree. M-A-N-L-Y."

"Did you just spell manly? Oh my god, Eijirou, you're such a dork."

He laughed, his head tipping back, and I felt that same flutter from earlier. This time, though, I didn't try to justify it to myself, I just laughed along with him.

"So that's your type?" He tilted his head at me, gently steering me away from somebody walking towards us who wasn't paying attention. "What do you like about him?"

I hummed, thinking. "I don't know. He's bold? Like, he doesn't care what people think about him. I admire that."

"Bold," Kirishima echoed, and I watched his face change. Did he want to be more like Bakugou? Did he genuinely just want to know my type? I feel like he would've been able to figure that out in all the time I'd known him.

On second thought, actually, I guess I hadn't really hung out much with anybody besides him. Our entire lives, he'd been the one I'd laughed with, my shoulder to cry on, my biggest supporter— and I was all of those things for him. I never really bothered with other people.

Those other friendships felt temporary. Flimsy— they always were, even when I tried.

But my Eijirou Kirishima was forever.
